Answer:
The ¾” valve will flow 5 GPM at 7-PSI drop-off from set pressure. If set at 35-PSI static it will flow 5 GPF at approximately 27-28 PSI while open. Depending on the volume your system uses you may want to look into a smaller valve.

This unit looks like a female pipe thread (FPT) x sweat / solder, not FPT x FPT, is that correct?

Answer:
The unit has 3/4" female pipe thread connections on each end. The input side has a union with an O-ring. The output side has female threads cut into the body of the unit. So each end screws onto 3/4" male pipe threads.

This unit is, in fact, FPT x FPT. It is difficult to see the threading from the angle of the product image.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 24 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good replacement. It works as it should. It works as it should. Yes. June 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Should've bought sooner! The pressure regulator performed better than expected. Easy to adjust pressure due to seamless construction. My hubby, not a licensed plumber, was able to install without a hitch. Replaced one that died an ugly, wet death. Easy to read model numbers without squinting. August 11, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by it's a regulator it's a regulator what more do you want it was shorter than the one it replaced. March 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality product Heavy duty quality product. My house didn't have a pressure reducer so I had to cut the water supply line in my garage and solder on two 3/4" male adapters. The unit screwed on easily and is leak-free. I set it to drop my pressure down from 95 to 75 psi. March 31, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great for RV use! Product seems very well built with the majority of the unit made of brass, including the end fittings. I purchased this product to regulate the pressure for the city water connection on my RV. It was recommended to use the "whole house" regulators instead of an RV specific regulator in order to regulate pressure without sacrificing flow. I've only used the setup once so far but it worked like a champ. It was easy to install/setup and kept the pressure down without reducing flow or volume. My setup includes: Watts 3/4" whole house regulator outfitted with male/female hose connections and a Flotec 100 psi pressure gauge (to measure output pressure). If I had to pick a draw back it would be the overall size. The regulator itself is on the larger side and then adding the hose connections and pressure gauge makes for a rather large setup. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works great and is a cost effective solution My 40-year-old house had a Watts U5B-5M3 regulator installed. I don't know if it's original or not, but it sprung an un-repairable leak. I called the local plumbing supply and they had a direct replacement for $404. So I checked Home Depot. This Watts unit has the same pressure specifications and fittings as my old one, but was 1/2" shorter. A small piece of 3/4" pipe solved that. I saved over $300 going this route. My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that the instructions said it was factory preset at 50 PSI. Using a Watts pressure gauge that I bought along with the regulator, I got 40 PSI. It was easy to adjust up to 50 PSI. I would definitely recommend this product. September 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent. Works as adverstised. Easy to install DIY. Very good price. I get about 8 years out of one of these but my incoming line pressure is 115 PSI. November 1, 2013
