Answer:
The instructions said it's preset at 50 PSI, but out-of-the-box mine was only 40 PSI. I bought a Watts pressure gauge at HD for $10. It comes in handy.

the model number in this is LF AUB Z3 so I wasn't sure if it would be as easy as unscrewing the old one and screwing this one in.

Answer:
Same here - broke it down at the two unions (need a pipe wrench), slid out the old one and slid in the new one, tighten down with pipe wrench. Leak test. Start to finish about 30 minutes.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 29 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Failed after 28 months Purchased Watt 3/4 inch FPT x FPT brass pressure reducing valve from Home Depot in May 2014, I installed June 2014 at my home. In October 2016, received water bill for $120 more than usual lead me to discover the unit failed. The valve is located on a heavily wooded portion of my lot, and I was surprised to see a swamp on this rocky hillside next to the above grade install of this valve. Hope no neighbors get zika they will be mad at me! The leak occurred where one of several small bolts holds the upper and lower portions of the valve together (see uploaded photo of active leak). The piping is all PVC; so its not metal induced corrosion. This was a residential water service in San Antonio suburb where service side reaches 120 psi. Only 1 year warranty from Watts. Im looking for another brand to replace. See image of water spraying out of valve! I contacted Watts via website and asked if they would stand by product in some capacity; I dont anticipate hearing back from them but if I do I will update review. October 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked perfect Worked just perfect. It was easy to install because it replaced the exact same valve. A professional plumber put the original in and it only lasted 2 1/2 years but it had a chunk of gasket floating inside when I took it apart. It looks like it got in there when plumber installed. Our water would come on full pressure then drop off drastically then build back up to full pressure. Not is is full steady pressure. Factory set was actually 51 PSI whick was just great for me. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very pleased I had a single stage pressure regulator and a water hammer problem. Tried a hammer stop at the water heater but that didn't solve the problem. Installed the two stage pressure regulator and solved my problem. This also stopped the water from pulsing in the lines. August 30, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by size difference The product was different in size from the one replaced and required several more steps in installation August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Water pressure valve The pressure valve was a little difficult to install, not because of the valve ,but because of where it was located in the house.Valve fit perfect-identical to old valve. Home Depot had the lowest price on the internet with same day pick up at store near me. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Should've bought sooner! The pressure regulator performed better than expected. Easy to adjust pressure due to seamless construction. My hubby, not a licensed plumber, was able to install without a hitch. Replaced one that died an ugly, wet death. Easy to read model numbers without squinting. August 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good replacement. It works as it should. It works as it should. Yes. June 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality product Heavy duty quality product. My house didn't have a pressure reducer so I had to cut the water supply line in my garage and solder on two 3/4" male adapters. The unit screwed on easily and is leak-free. I set it to drop my pressure down from 95 to 75 psi. March 31, 2015
