Product seems very well built with the majority of the unit made of brass, including the end fittings. I purchased this product to regulate the pressure for the city water connection on my RV. It was recommended to use the "whole house" regulators instead of an RV specific regulator in order to regulate pressure without sacrificing flow. I've only used the setup once so far but it worked like a champ. It was easy to install/setup and kept the pressure down without reducing flow or volume. My setup includes: Watts 3/4" whole house regulator outfitted with male/female hose connections and a Flotec 100 psi pressure gauge (to measure output pressure). If I had to pick a draw back it would be the overall size. The regulator itself is on the larger side and then adding the hose connections and pressure gauge makes for a rather large setup.

Very good price. I get about 8 years out of one of these but my incoming line pressure is 115 PSI.

I bought one, installed it and found out it had a pin hole leak in the valve body and the valve did not hold pressure when faucets were closed. A poor rebuild for sure, even the screw heads were messed up and reused.
Returned for a second valve and it seems to holding pressure without leaks. That one had no union nut or o ring in the box. The guy at HD allowed me to take the ones off the returned valve.
Good price though and hoping it last for a few years.

The Watts valve is a replacement for a 20 year old valve with the same model number. The fit was exactly the same so no piping changes were necessary. It was a 20 minute change-out with the only requirement being a couple large pipe wrenches to break loose the existing 20 year old fittings. Amazing that Watts is still making the same model number after this many years.

Let's face it. Water pressure reducers are not all that sexy, fun, or much of a decorative statement. They just get installed and do what they do. This one has done just that. I took me a couple of trips to the store to get the right one (my fault not store's), but once I did, I just took the old one off, cleaned the pipe threads, doped them, and screwed the new one on. Done. Easy. I didnt even have to change the pressure setting. The factory setting seemed perfect for all faucets in the house.

The pressure regulator that I purchased came in a timely manner. It was an updated replacement of the one that had been in our home for twenty eight years. I am very please with the quality of the unit and would recommend it.

6/18/2014 - I have purchased 2 of these valves and both failed to reduce pressure. Incoming pressure 114psi outlet pressure 110psi. The 2 reducers I purchased leaked from the adjustment screw at the top of valve. The first reducer valve came from Home Depot. The second came from Lowe's because Home Depot did not have another valve. Both valves failed to reduce pressure and leaked. I called Watts and they are shipping me another valve. Good luck!
