The patented design of this connector protects against catastrophic water damage caused by burst, broken or ruptured water supply hoses and fittings. It automatically shuts off the water supply to plumbing fixtures/appliances if excess water flow is sensed, and will remain in the closed position until it is reset. The shutoff valve is located on the inlet end of the supply line, and there are no mechanical moving parts which mean no power required for installation.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Brought it back. Doesn't work. Well made hose but the flood safe valve will not stay open to allow the washing machine to fill. We got one complete cycle and then the cold hose shut off. The safety device kept shutting the water off when the machine would cycle. Not ready for prime time/ bad design, function. Brought it back and got regular hoses without the flood safe valve feature. August 18, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by GARBAGE!!! As everyone else has pointed out, these hoses in theory are great. but In reality are horrible! They don't allow any water to come into your washing machine. While It allowed cold water in (but stops the flow every few seconds) it completely closed down on the hot water (the hot water must have more water pressure than the cold water in my home). (The washing machine was just humming trying to get water in). While I threw out the bag it came in, I am returning them to Home Depot.. Let them return it to the manufacturer. Don't waste your time. Now I have to hire the handyman again to remove them and replace the regular braided stainless steel connectors that I had and threw out. March 24, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk. Home Depot PLEASE stop selling this product! This will not work on my brand new Maytag washing machine. The hose for the cold water hook up works great but it's a different matter in regards to the hot water. All my machine do is whine like its trying to run hot water in the machine. I wished I had read the negative reviews before I wasted my money. Now I have to buy another hose for the hot water hook up. NOT HAPPY at all, lost money and have to spend additional money for a replacement. April 11, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Home Depot Should Take This Off the Shelf I bought these thinking I was getting the best washing machine feed lines available ... WRONG! The concept is great ... the execution is terrible. The valve that protects against a burst hose flooding the house is SO restrictive that it takes forever for the washer to fill. That wasn't so bad as its performance during the rinse cycle ... Since the rinse cycle is a 'timed' event, the clothes never receive the proper amount of water for a proper rinse due to the restrictive flow rate. The quality of the hose construction is excellent, but the restrictive nature of the valve makes this hose unacceptable. I returned the hoses for ones without the valve (same manufacturer, same hose quality) and they work great. September 8, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cost me TWO HOURS! We moved into a previously owned home. When I went to hook up the washing machine, the old water supply lines were 5 years old, as good a time as any to replace. I purchased this product and installed it with no issues... Until I did the first load. A few minutes into the washing cycle, my washer stopped - beeping and displaying an error code that I found out was showing 'no water pressure'. I checked and of course, made sure that the valve for both hot and cold were open - and they were. After turning both valves off, I removed the end off of the washer - and placed them in an empty garbage can. I turned the valves back on and water was running... and then shut off after a few seconds. Turning the water off and back on again, not a drip. I searched high and low for a shutoff valve and couldn't find one. I looked everywhere - and then some. I checked the main line coming in to make sure that this line wasn't a secondary line - heck, I checked the attic for a valve... I looked everywhere but my next door neighbor's house! Frustrating doesn't BEGIN to describe my encounter with this product! It can't be a problem with the supply lines - they're brand new, top of the line supply lines.... WRONG! I removed the line at the valve, and opened it enough to see that it was supplying water... I hooked up the old hoses that these were to replace, and a few minutes later, my laundry load was complete. I had the lines run the proper way - as instructed on the lines and on their bag they came in. I returned these lines and will replace them with another top quality line - but not from this manufacturer... December 8, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Total waste of money The Flood safe feature does not function properly. I hooked these up to my front load washer and no water would reach the washer. I followed the directions to "reset" the device to no avail. Total waste of money. December 12, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Garbage indeed. No water. I wasted 2 hours going to the store, coming back, installing it, finding out it doesn't work and then returning. Why do they make something as easy as a hose so complicated? August 26, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't work with LG front load washers I bought these when I bought my new LG front load washer. They worked fine for about a month, and then the hot water wasn't filling. Since they are designed to shut off the water supply if there isn't a certain amount of backpressure, I didn't suspect a bad hose when I called LG, but that's what the technician found. He said that the new washers use switches that are either 100% open or 100% closed, so they don't generate enough backpressure for these hoses. He changed them out to some regular hoses, and everything worked just fine after that. He also noted that the reduced and/or non-existant water flow messes up the algorithm that the washer uses to determine the proper amount of water to use, so it doesn't get enough water in the tub. He also said that he has seen the same problem on some top load washers, so I'd avoid them altogether. This is an idea that sounds good, but unfortunately, they don't work. Avoid them. March 26, 2013
