Product Overview

This 5/16 in. O.D. x 1/4 in. O.D. in. quick connect coupling is used to interconnect with multiple materials without the need for special tools or tube inserts. It is easy to install and the fittings can be used for hot and cold water applications. The unique O-ring guide feature insures zero-leak connections by protecting the O-ring from damage during connection and increasing the connectors' side load capacity. This fitting joins the tubing on the outside, increasing the flow capacity by more than 30%. It utilizes a swivel nut with NPS straight threads and a cone seal that can be threaded without tools or thread sealant and makes the quick connect fitting ideal for vibrating and dynamic applications.

Product was fine, but I didn't pay close enough attention to what size it was. Don't know why you would show a jump size fitting instead of a straight size with the tubing, i.e., 1/4 X 1/4, 5/16 X 5/16 etc. Had to make another trip to get right size!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Okay product for quick fix. I bought one of these about a year ago (perhaps just under a year) and it was great initially at fixing a leak in the refrigerator's water line - the line that feeds from the bottom of the 'fridge to the top section and into the refrigerator itself. I had a pin size hold where the line rubbed against the removal metal plate/cover on the back. I snipped the line cutting out the section with the hole and install this product and leak was fixed. Just recently the leak reappeared and I discovered this part had put enough pressure on the line to cut through the plastic line over time. I do like the product and actually bought a second one to repair the leak again and hopefully it will last some time. Eventually, if these keep "eating" into the line I will have to replace the line (or perhaps the refrigerator as it's getting up in age) but hopefully this time it'll last more than a year.
