Finally got a refrigerator with an ice maker so I needed to run a water line. Read some reviews and was skeptical at first but for the price I said "What the heck" I'll try it. Product works great. The supplied compression parts and the saddle valve all worked fine. You must read the instructions though. I even had to instruct the delivery/setup workers on how to hook it up. They were going to use a plastic compression ring which isn't necessary. Put the proper compression nut on the supply line (make a clean cut first so it is even) then insert the metal tube in the supply line a tighten to the compression nut to appropriate fixture. Not a leak. Before it was hooked up to the refrigerator, I let the water run in the supply line to clean it. Ice tastes fine.

The length of the tubing is what sold me on this kit. The designers of my kitchen put the sink across the kitchen from the fridge nook, and the water lines for the sink and fridge are under the sink, so I needed to run line all around the room. The length was perfect, and it was easy to install. The tubing itself is decent quality, but there seems to be an issue with the connectors and not really holding the tubing well. The tubing fits over the connectors, but doesn't secure itself in any way. I am still working on a way to better secure this, but might just get some little clamps. Overall, decent, but not a single solution.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Norookie Supplied with wrong compression ferrules for plastic
The supplied compression fitting have a captive metal ferrule and does not hold the tubing. I will have to go back and get the correct compression parts with a plastic ferrule. I see some people have been able to make this work but most have not. The only part of the compression ferrule that gets compressed is the end where the flare of the insert is but it does not compress around the tubing.

I am so happy.I got a new Samsung Refrigerator with an Ice maker and since this is my first ice maker I really wanted to hook it up.I was going to go with copper but the kit only came with 15 feet of tubing and I needed 18 so I went with this kit.Hook up was easy and took me about ten minutes to run and test for leaks. Now I have Ice and I am real happy,no more ice trays to fill. Did not have any trouble with the compression fittings and no leaks.

Fast and easy to install. I needed a water supply for my wife's new refrigerator and I called a plumber who quoted $275 to install. I went to home depot and with $15 and less then an hour of my time the wife had ice in the new refrigerator.

I think the problem previous reviewers had with this kit is that since it's meant to be a "universal" installation kit it comes with more fittings than needed. There's a regular threaded fitting as well as a compression fitting, and unfortunately they look pretty much the same. If you use the wrong one, boom, you get a tube that won't stay in. I made sure to use the right one and didn't have a single drip. My kids are mad I didn't hook this up five years ago they've used more ice in the last week than they have in their entire lives.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ComfortableShoes PUSH the brass fittings into the line and then tighten everything together
I read a lot of the reviews on here giving this kit a negative review. True the instructions are rubbish but with some effort you can get this kit to work really well.
First the brass fittings that go into the kit when you push them into the tube, you have to really jam them into the tube. the point of them is to flair the end of the tube out to create the pressure fitting. Without the tube flaring there is no pressure fitting. I used a phillips screw driver to wedge them further into the tube. After you wedge the bras flair adapters into the tube you really have to tighten the heck out of the fittings. IF you don't tighten them down really well, the pressure fitting isn't created and you end up with leaks.
So to get this kit to work you must:
first - wedge or jam the pressure fitting adapters into the tube, a tool is helpful to do this.
secondly you must tighten the fittings very tight and you must use a wrench to do this. finger or hand tight is NOT enough.
I have this attached to my fridge and it is leak free. Works great if you push those adapters into the tube further than you can with your fingers.

This kit was really easy to install. The only issues I had came down to me not tightening the connections well enough. After you have your fittings connected, tug on the 1/4 inch tubing. If it slides out then try re-seating the connection again. Finger tight is not enough. I had to use two wrenches to properly tighten everything.
