How about two 3/8" and one 1/4"

My current RO has 3/8" from filter for drinking water, 1/4" for waste that goes through airgap and out 3/8" to drain. Can I buy the 1 Handle Air Gap Faucet and then buy a 1/4" to 3/" convervter so my drinking water tube goes to converter to a 1/4" tube to the faucet?P

On an air gap faucet. Why do you need two lines for waste water. I thought the faucet only took water from the tank after it was filtered.

Asked by: Nellie
With reverse osmosis systems, there is a portion of water that is flushed out to the drain. The airgap takes in the waste water in the red tube and then sends it to the drain in the black tube. The airgap prevents cross-contamination from the drain. Thank you!

What is the difference between a non air gap and a air gap standard faucet?

I have no manual or paperwork of any kind.
Asked by: Dick
The airgap has three lines, one for the pure water going into the system and two lines for the waste water. The airgap allows the system to send waste water to the drain while preventing contamination.

We had this installed by a plumber who found it awkward to work with -- two hands were needed to hold it on top as well as his two hands to tighten it under the sink. The whole reverse osmosis system needed to be reset to get air out, but after that the handle works well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very economical replacement faucet We originally bought the GE home reverse osmosis water filtration system from home depot about two years ago. The system works very well. The faucet that comes with the system looks very good, but has a terrible mounting method. I'm not sure what the nut is called, the nut has two side flaps that are spring loaded. This kind of mounting is normally used in walls. Anyway, my son hit the faucet jarring it loose. I tried to tighten the nut, but had to remove the supply line and drain lines to do it. I broke the drain line hose bib in the process. Very thin brass barb. The OEM replacement faucet was over one hundred dollars. So I decided to try this one. The new faucet works very well, has a better mounting set up. The only problem I had were the instructions. I ended up using the first and last example together to hook up the new faucet. I did have to buy some plastic reducing couplings to match the old system with the new faucet. Overall we are pleased with the faucet. We saved over one hundred dollars with this faucet.
