Being a transfer pump, a lot of factors go into the "pressure" on the output side. A transfer pump is not meant to "pressure up" meaning that a flow of liquid (in the case of this pump, water) is what this pump is designed to do. It is not designed to have the inlet or outlet blocked so either a suction/vacuum or pressure takes place. It transfers liquid from one place to another. Since it is not submersible, it will transfer water up to about 34 feet vertically. That means that the draw side can be 34 feet below the outlet side. The pump can sit anywhere in between and transfer water as long as neither side is blocked.I hope that answered your question. Read Less

Answer:
Some people use this pump to pump out a hot tub so pumping out a pool should work fine. It may take some time though depending on the size of the pool. Calculate your gallons per hour. This pump does up to 340 gallons per hour at level. Example, if your pool is 5000 gallons it would take this pump around 15 hours to empty the pool.

Can I simplify the winterization process by simply connecting the pump outlet to RV water intake and run the pump? The antifreeze will push the water out through the faucets and fill the system with antifreeze.

Answer:
Wayne Portable Transfer Utility Pump, 1-800-237-0987 said NO WAY with the PC2, the impeller is soft rubber and the antifreeze will ruin it. The PC4 1/2 HP Cast Iron, Portable Transfer Utility Pump WILL work. Straight from the manufacturer.

I would contact their customer service line first, just to verify that the Wayne Portable Transfer Utility Pump Model PC2 will be strong enough to handle the heavier weight of the propylene glycol: (1-800-237-0987).
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great little pump I brew my own beer here in Las Vegas. So as to not waste water I recirculate pool water to cool my brew, or "wort" as it's known to beer brewers. The pump has worked flawlessly since first tried and continues to perform as advertised. August 3, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A well engineered product Although it is way too small for emptying a good size pool, it did the job in 12 days, running 11 hour plus everyday. October 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by functional pump for my application took it out of the box and connected hoses ,,,, worked right away September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked perfectly We had a frozen water supply line from the street to the cabin so we slowly pushed warm water down the 3/4" supply line with a smaller pex hose to thaw the frozen sections (inch by inch). We used a hot plate to warm up the water periodically. The pump handled the 6 hour ordeal that traveled down the 130' water supply line. Pump never got too hot and functioned perfectly!
