Only installed for one day, but so far so good. Simple installation, just drop in sump well, connect to lift pipe with clunkless check valve, which connects eaisly with rubber fittings. This unit is super quiet, both primary and back up. Works perfectly.Tested backup after installing by unplugging the unit and manually activating the back up float switch. Back up worked just fine and the alarm sounded like it is supposed to. So far I am extremely pleased with this unit. Will update this post in few months after the pumps have been in service for awhile.

Very robust product - cast iron pump should provide long service life. Primary and backup pumps are both high volume and nearly silent - can barely hear the pump run even when standing right next to the pit. Battery pump has a much stronger flow than I was expecting, nearly what I would expect from a 1/4 to 1/3 HP AC pump.
Installation was very simple - trim the length of the PVC discharge pipe, drop the pump into the pit, and glue the PVC together. The instructions are good, but not really necessary. All electrical connections are error-proofed so it is impossible to get the wiring wrong.
A couple installation notes - first, remember that you will need two 120V outlets for this - one to power the main pump and one for the battery charger. If your power outlet only has a single outlet like mine did you will need to install a duplex outlet or get a multi-outlet adapter or extension cord. Second, this pump turns on at a lower water level than my previous pump that had a tethered float switch, so the pump runs more often. I'll have to raise the pump on a cinder block to keep the pump from cycling so frequently.

I wanted the ability to install a battery backup sump pump. With my current pump being over ten years old, I did not want to risk a failure on the main pump so I purchased the Wayne combo. I was very pleased that it came with a free upgrade to a stainless steel jacket on the main 1/2 HP pump. I removed the old unit at a hose clamp joint where the check valve was located. I removed the existing tube, measured and shortened it. I glued the PVC tube in place and connected my marine deep-cycle battery(previously purchased)Plugged in 3 plugs, connected the charger to the AC outlet and was in business in less than 1/2 hour. Tested the system both AC power and battery. Flawless, did it on the 4th of July and had plenty of time for cooking burgers and fireworks.

Easy to install. Extremely quiet. Glad I chose this one. The instructions should tell you check valves are already installed in pump, because the illustration shows a check valve installation which is not really required. I went to on-line Q and A to confirm this. Works fine.

My previous sump pump was only five years old and worked fine, but I had a scare when the power out went out for 24 hours last year and my basement started flooding. So I wanted a battery backup unit, and after some searching decided that this combined primary/battery backup system was the easiest to install. It fit pretty easily into my sump. I attached a new pvc drain pipe (the old one was 1.25 inches and I needed 1.5 inch pipe), hooked up the electrical connections (I bought the battery separately, of course), filled it with water and both the primary pump and the battery backup pump worked perfectly. I didn't need to drill a hole in the pipe as some did to get rid of an air lock. Extremely quiet operation, if I wouldn't be standing next to it I would not hear it running.

Purchased as part of home renovation project. Easily connected to existing pipe which had check valve.. Fit in hole. Total system needed only two plugs rather than the three of other system. Works well.

The pump was easy to install and works very quietly. I just installed it so I hope it lasts many years as others have mentioned.
The secondary pump operating on battery is practically touching the ground whereas the main pump is on pedestal of about an inch. So I suggest putting brick or something to keep pumps above ground and avoid sucking in sediments from the bottom.

Both pumps are powerful at a 10 foot head. They are quiet too. This may be due to having the check valves right on the pumps. Drop in installation. No adjustments were needed to either of the floats.
