Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by otr1962 Great when it works
This pump has been great when it works, however I had to buy this pump to replace the exact same pump that failed just after two years. The failed pump had no obvious issues, seems like the motor might have burned out. I certainly think that it should have lasted longer than that. I have friends with the exact same pump and theirs have been working flawlessly for over 4 years. so I decided to replace it with the same model and so far it has worked on the one occasion where we got a real heavy rain recently. They say you should have a backup pump, I didn't and it came back to bite me. Overall though I would still recommend this pump, it did a great job until it failed and the new one seems to be great so far.

I live in an old farmhouse with a wet basement from groundwater, and, with no floor drains, I also need to dispose of used water from the washing machine. I have used one of these pumps for that purpose for many years, and have found them to be very reliable. The sump pump gets quite a workout, and has to be replaced every four or five years, but, for the price, and the job it does, this pump is an excellent value.
I have had two problems; First, the new pump only comes with one rubber stop for the float; I simply take one from the old pump, but I'm not sure what first-time users would do. Second, I did have a pump in which the starter switch broke. I went to the company's web site, found the replacement part, and attempted to get a new one. I never could get any response from the company.
However, these pumps have proved to be more than adequate for the price.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brandon fairly easy to install, seems well made
Product seems sturdy, the cast iron makes it feel durable. It was fairly easy to install, though it was difficult to determine from the instructions or the box what size PVC pipe I would need (1.5 inch diameter). I bought it online, so did not consult anyone regarding the pipe size before I purchased it. Since I was replacing a sump pump with a 1.25 inch discharge, i just needed to make a trip to Home Depot to get a larger pipe and a new check valve. Not a big deal, and once I got them home, finishing the installation was quick. We haven't had rain since I installed it, so I can't say whether it continues to work well, but it ran fine when I tested it.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by jerseyboy Good pump but bad float switch
The over all pump design is good and works fine but it has a weakness in the float switch. I have a large basement and I had three Wayne pedestal pumps installed in different corners. All three float switches failed after about five to six years of normal use. They would not shut off but keep running continuously after the water was pumped out. I contacted Wayne to get a replacement float switch and found they were available but the cost was more then half the price of what I initially paid for the pump. This was aggravating especially given the fact they must know that this is a common problem. I will never buy another Wayne sump pump based on the failure rate of the float switch and the high cost to replace the switch.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JoeP Best product and value EVER!
A US made product by Wayne Pumps, this pedestal style sump pump works better and more reliably than the two previous submerged sump pumps that I had in the same location. I have properly placed it and anchored it; wired in a protected receptacle; provided a shroud to keep water away from the motor; placed a good check valve inline; now, when the rains come, I sit and listen to it do its job efficiently. I no longer have to worry as with other pumps that just plain gave me much grief.
Like hydroelectric or solar power, it is a little extra work on the front end for a much better result over the long term.

I ordered this sump pump because of good reviews I saw elsewhere.Shipping to my house was free and timely. The pump is working fine but I can't really give an accurate review until I see how it holds up 5-10 years from now.My previous RIDGID pump only lasted 5 years and that was with repairing the pressure switch at 3 years.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dick Excellent quality. Good investment.
So far, this has proven to be an excellent investment. This pump replaces a 1/3HP (other-brand) all-plastic pump that had worn out. I wanted to upgrade a bit to cast iron. The pump installed very easily, and works as advertised. In my case, the pump is handling gray water from a basement kitchen in our church. It pumps against a 12 foot static head, and seems to be functioning well within the advertised performance. I installed it in a new 18" diameter x 22" deep synthetic sump. I used a 1-1/4" conduit strap to anchor the pump stem to a custom pressure treated wood top stabilizer strut that I used to span the top of the sump.
