Customer Questions & Answers

Can I use a Wayne 1/3 sump pump in my fishpond

Asked by: Mario
This pump is designed to operate when the water level gets too high. I'd think you'd want a circulation type water pump, not a sump pump.

How long is life expectancy

Asked by: Rooster
The warranty on the cast iron model is 2 years. My current one has been running great for at least 12 years now.

Is the tether float switch quite a bit more reliable than the standard one?

Asked by: BobO
This is a personal opinion. I've had several vertical float sump pumps and the rod and float mechanism has broken on each after 3 - 4 years. I switched to a tethered version and it has operated flawlessly for over 12 years now. I'm looking to get a backup in case the current one stops working. No sign of that yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality. Built to last. This pump is built like a battleship. The body is cast iron. If anything on the pump fails, it can be disassembled and the failed part replaced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well, quiet, no problem This replaced an older unit that was damaged by saltwater from Hurricane Sandy. The old pump still worked but the float switch which was the level type began to stick 6 months after the storm and the side bolts began to rust from the salt water. The pump still worked well and pumped 3 feet of saltwater out of my crawl space in two hours once the power came back on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Value for the price. I have used Wayne Sump Pumps for the last 20 plus years without a failure. I do however, as a precaution, replace it every 5 years.
