Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by must start in 2 5/8" of water I bought this after our basement flooded 3x in March. All the specs and outside of the box tout its ability to suck up water down to 1/4" deep. That is true. What is not clear, until you take it out the box, is that is has to start in water that is at least 2 5/8" deep! There is a sticker on the side stating the minimum water depth. Why not mention that on the box or product specs anywhere? Since I bought it to such up very shallow water I have not been able to test it other than a few seconds in a bucket to see if it works at all. I am going to see if I can construct a ring to place around it to get it primed when starting. If they had mentioned the fact that it needs deep water to get started I would have bought something else. July 9, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value and easy to install. I found this pump an excellent value and easy to install for my application. Before purchasing this pump, my home in Florida had significant water damage from a tropical storm. In addition, I had drainage problems from runoff on the sidewalks and patios near the house. To help solve the drainage problem, I sunk a 5 gallon plastic pail into the ground at the low spot, put the pump in the pail, plugged it in to a switched outside outlet, and covered the top of the pail with screen and pond stones. Now, when it rains hard, I occasionally run the pump as necessary to drain the pail and keep water away from the house foundation. The pump drains the pail in less that a minute, and I repeat the procedure as needed. A low cost, reliable solution. August 21, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tough Pump I bought this to supplement the one I bought 21 years ago. This is the same pump. The old one is still working after all those years and heavy punishing use. It sits in my pool cover all winter and despite freezing and thawing many times it works like a charm. Even leaves and debris don't phase it. At 1/4 HP it can take a long time to drain flooded pool cover but no other product does the job like this one. It serves my purposes. I don't know what you want it for but if you need a tough long lasting product this fits the bill. April 30, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works finw I used this pump to winterize my SeaDoo's last week. Worked as expected. October 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No complaints Good quiet pump. The 90 degree garden hose adapter has an o-ring seal so you can position it left, right, straight up or anywhere in between. Without the adapter, there is a 1¼" female NPT threaded connection. January 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 1/4 HP Submersible Utility Pump This pump performed just as it is advertised to do. I used it to empty my pond and swimming pool. Performed very well and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a submersible pump. June 27, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Little Pump We bought this pump to not only pump out my 1,350 gallon endless pool but also to pump water out of our concrete forms and footing holes after it rained and before we poured concrete. This little pump took no prisoners and took care of each job with ease. No stone or debris stopped this pump from doing it's job. October 28, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good utility pump I bought this pump in order to pump water from rain barrels to my garden. It works ok, as long as you don't intend to put it through a sprinkler. I should have bought a sprinkler pump for this job. It does good at what it claims to do though, pump unwanted water out. June 8, 2009
