Customer Questions & Answers

Will a 1000 watt generator run this

Asked by: jim
I order to run this pump you would need at least 1800 watts continuous. When you first turn on the pump the power will spike until the motor comes up to speed. then it will settle down around 15 amps [1800 watts] . That being said if you want to do this right i would recommend that you buy something a little bigger.. say 2 Kw.

Can this pump be used on a 1.25 dia. point for water

Asked by: wolf
Don't really understand the question. This foot valve is intended to be used on a 3/4" intake pipe, however I used it on a 1" intake with satisfactory results but maximum flow was not a priority. It is actually a spring loaded check valve built into a course strainer.

1 HP Stainless Steel Portable Sprinkler Pump is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stainless Steel Sprinkler Pump It worked well for the application I intended to use it. We have a vacant lot without any electricity or water on a channel. I wanted to hook up the pump to our generator and then power wash our docks. I tested the pump with the generator the other day. I'm very pleased with the results.

It is easy to open up for cleaning, which is an important consideration since I'm pumping river water with sediment. I would recommend this pump.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Pump! This pump is ready to go out of the box. It is a very high quality pump. I pump water from a lake to irrigate the lawn. I'm pulling water vertically 5' from the lake through about 50' of garden hose to a 20' contraption I made with PVC with two residential irrigation heads on either end. I was concerned that the pump would have enough pressure to operate the two heads. No problem! There enough pressure to operate 3 or 4 heads, each with a 15' stream. I'm very pleased and would highly recommend. This pump is very quiet, lightweight and easy to carry with the handle, making it very portable. The pump itself is made of stainless steel.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wayne 1 hp pump One pump I received overheated 5 times after 20-30 minutes usage using various sized intake hoses, various lengths output hoses and both 16 /10 gauge cords. A satisfactory pump should work for hours without overheated regardless of the variables I tried.
