Answer:
Don't really understand the question. This foot valve is intended to be used on a 3/4" intake pipe, however I used it on a 1" intake with satisfactory results but maximum flow was not a priority. It is actually a spring loaded check valve built into a course strainer.

Is the unit in an open area or with adequate ventilation? What is the ambient temperature? Add to the ambient the temperature rise number on the motor. Is that sum within the temperature limits? Answer:
The Foot Valve, which is a "spring loaded check valve", is installed at the pick-up point of the pump inlet pipe. That would be at the bottom of your sump or water source. It should be installed in the vertical position with the pick-up (inlet) pipe positioned straight down into the top of the Foot Valve. The Foot Valve is necessary to keep the prime from being drained from the pump.

Answer:
Yes 1" foot valve. Plastic adaptor screws into pump and another into foot valve. Run a short piece of garden hose, with regular fittings, between the two and place the valve in enough water to keep it completely covered or else pump will loose prime.
There are three adapters in the container with the pump.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lawn Booster Pump I use this to boost pressure through an RO Unit to make pure water for window cleaning. Works as well as the last pump I had that lasted about 5 years. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by portable pond aerator pump Used as a pond aerator pump. performed well, would have liked self priming; no problems in set up or running May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Used as coolant pump This pump seems to be all that is claimed for it and so far is functioning very satisfactorily. It is being used for a coolant pump on a spot welder and develops a head pressure of about 45 psi. It has just been installed and at this point we have only used it for about 20 hrs. at 18 psi. So far so good! August 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great little pump very easy to hook up, plug in and let it go ,pumps more than enought water August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great little pump The pump appears to be well built, easy to hook up, uses very little electricity, to run at full capacity. It also has over temperature safety feature so no fears of burning out. Shipping/ handling very reasonable and arrived before scheduled date. We now have two of them running approx 16 hours per week with no regrets. Great buy. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great pump Great pump would recommend this for lawn and garden uses I watered from creek over 100 tomato plants during drought without a problem August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by As advertised This pump performed as advertised for me. Draw water out of the river and sprinkle the lawn with it. Several hundred feet of garden hose with a single stream rotating sprinkler throws water approx 80 ft circle. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect! We needed a pump to pull the rainwater up from our 275 gal water tank and push it 130' to our garden sprinkler. The 1/2 HP Wayne PC2 didn't have enough power, but this Wayne PSL 100 works perfectly! August 9, 2016
