Customer Questions & Answers

Using to build a swing set. Should I sand and stain the wood before installation?

I thinking about using a pressure treated 4x6 as a beam and PT 4x4s for the 4 legs. Should I sand and stain before assembly, or will it need to dry out first? Should I use some thing else? I live near Virginia coast.

Can pressure treated lumber be used for indoor projects?

Thinking about removing a load bearing wall and replacing it with a support beam
Asked by: Eva
Check with your local home depot. It depends where the pressure treated lumber is coming from. At my local home depot it is rated safe for indoor and playground use. Also aproved to use in lakes that supply drinking water for nearby cities.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Some wood delivered warped Not the first time Home Depot delivered an inferior product while I was not home. If I was it wouldn't have gotten of the truck. Incredibly irritating experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for driveways. We outline our driveway last year. To hold #57 rock from coming into our yard. It worked great, even through the winter. If you join each one together on the sides so the rock can hide it and put rebar to anchor each one, it stays right where you put it. Wife wants to do flower beds the same way, should look nice. Thanks for a great product

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but not the best! This wood is good but you MUST sort through many to find acceptable ones. I regularly use these as supports for sheds. They are heavy duty and strong BUT the down side is you MUST sort through many (20+) to find three acceptable ones. Since they are so heavy the sorting can be difficult! Once you find the acceptable ones they are a good buy.
