What would you do and what would the cost be?

I live in Oklahoma and have a few questions appreciate your help in determining the cost. We have a deck with the dimensions of 17 foot x 14 foot and one side of the square will not have railing on it, for that side is up against the home. There will be 1, three-foot opening on the right side which will be 14 feet less the 3 feet opening. The 2nd opening will be across the front which will be the 17 feet less the 3 foot opening. I will install 4 by 4 wood post in concrete around the edge deck before placing the floor decking, but do not know for sure the spacing for. For example on the 17 foot side does it matter if I have 2 at eight feet apart and the other one setting one foot and turned the corner with one in the corner? I guess what I’m asking, can one cut these rails is to make them fit any size within 8 foot span? If so, what would you suggest regarding that first 17 foot span? The other two sides will have three-foot openings in them which would make those awkward links between the posts. Please let me know what you suggest and does it matter in the costs if you get a color rails? Thank you-Larry D
Asked by: LD
Larry, Yes you can definitely cut these down to fit the size you need. For the 17 ft. side I would space the posts evenly and then purchase 3 - 6 ft. railing kits and cut the evenly. Color will not make a difference in your installation. If you would like you can email a drawing of your deck and where your openings will be to and we can further assist you.
