Answer:
The motor has a 3 foot cord. Because the grill should not be that close to any structure, an
extension cord is needed. For safety purposes, the cord should be longer or shorter (forcing use of extension cord) so that someone does not burn the house down. As with anything Weber, there is
alot of room for improvement.

The counter weight is held on by the black metal ring that screws into the end of the wooden skewer handle. Then I set the counter weight so it is extending straight up opposite the heavy side and tighten it down. You can test the location of the weight by then lifting the handle and and spinning the skewer by hand to see if the skewer rotates without much effort, and make adjustments by altering the length of the counterweight extension. The weight takes the stress off the motor so it does not have to work at raising a lopsided load. Not sure why Weber does not give instructions. Read Less

Wow! That's a tuff question. The food needs to be balanced on it. If you can get it on there, it should work fine? Ribs and Chicken is all I have had on mine. Never tried a whole beef. Not a problem found with any weight problems.

I doubt if food weight is an issue because the rotisserie rod is 1/4 inch solid steel, so if properly balanced it should hold and rotate any amount of food you can load on it. I have cooked a turkey on mine.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I love cooking with this Absolutely the best food I've ever grilled is while using this rotisserie. Only issue I have is my older Weber kettle lid doesn't quite fit over the ring for a good seal but hasn't effected the grilling results August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Weber Charcoal Rotisserie Had the previous style rotisserie w/weights. It was a workhorse, but disappeared when 'friends' moved me. New rotisserie works as well. July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Chicken Ever Better than indirect cooking. Two six pound chickens, breast sides at 180 degrees were no problem for the motor. No counter-weights needed. Very moist, even when cooked fully to 170 degrees at the thigh joint. Let rest a while after cooking. Why are these not stocked items? Free shipping to the house made it alright. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great addition for grilling The rotisserie was easy to assemble & works great! Maybe 10 minutes from the start of unpackaging to putting it to work. May 24, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for Chicken Wings! This is a great way to cook and It's fun. The motor on this is really smooth. I use this kettle ring with a add on unit from rotisserie master, for the Weber kettle ring. This Kettle ring is great for smoking chicken and meats. It's not airtight, but it doesn't have to be. You can control the air flow on the grill. February 17, 2013
