Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 196 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic BBQ I bought this BBQ after going through three cheaper ones in the past 10 years. Seems like I was always either replacing the burners or the grates in the cheaper ones. I decided to go with this particular model both because of the other reviews and the stainless steel bar grates -- I never want to replace another grate again. All in all, this is a wonderful barbecue. Quality construction that is obvious when you're putting it together. A good example is that the doors didn't completely align when I first put them on the frame, but the next step in the instructions explained how to adjust them until they were perfect. BBQ warms very quickly to very high temperatures (650 in 10 minutes) and sears wonderfully. Stainless steel bars are super easy to clean. I was also really impressed with the fact that it came with a propane tank weigh scale (had no idea it had one). Side burner lights easily and burns hot. Assembly is a bit laborious but instructions are clear. The only suggestion that I would give to those assembling yourself: use a socket set! The BBQ comes with a small cheap sheet metal wrench and a lot of bolts -- the clearance to use the wrench is often pretty much zero, with a deep socket set it was much quicker work. April 28, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Grill. BBQ like never before ;) This is not my first BBQ. Over the past 30 years I have gone through a new BBQ about every 5 years. I went to a cook off with about 20 other guys and they all brought Webers! I used one of theirs to BBQ and the one I used was 20 years old. I actually won the cook off! lol. Since then I have been saving in a jar to get this s-330 because I wanted the stainless grates etc.. I have used this for the past two weeks and it is incredible... Ive cooked Steak, Pork Chops, Beer chicken... Veggies.. Skinless Chicken Breast... Seared and cooked direct and indirect.. This has been perfect. I never rate 5 stars but this deserves it.. Buy it... you will forget what you paid for it when it is at your house... I would recommend this to a friend for sure.. It honestly could make the novice into a great cook.. I have been watching my weight and this BBQ seals in the juices on extremely lean meat and the flavour is totally awesome! I hope to have it for years to come. I built it myself because I wanted to.. took my time and it did take me a bit longer then I thought.. It always does ;) Very well built but much more then that.. you can tell it will last forever and when you see 5 grills show up at a cook out that are like 20 years old and still working properly then they have the right track record... Good Job Weber... Go get one! This one. April 8, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Weber Genesis S330 I needed a new BBQ and have been doing my research for over a couple of weeks, I was debating between a Napoleon and Weber, Finally, after reading all the positive reviews, I decided to buy a Weber Genesis S330, Am I ever glad that I did !! Home Depot had a 20% off sale and free assembly, I am very mechanically inclined so I decided to assemble it myself. I just wanted to see the design & built quality of this grill every one raves about, I must say, this is the best grill I have ever seen, everything about this grill screams QUALITY! Well designed and solidly built. I can tell that every panel, nut, bolt and screw is designed by professional engineers, even the washers are designed so they don’t scratch any painted surface when the screws and bolts are tightened. The assembly instructions were very simple and easy to follow, it took me just over an hour to put it all together, and I was taking my time. I can see this grill lasting me a very long time. As for cooking food, I was a little concerned about this grill being only rated for 38000 BTU, not sure if that would be hot enough to do the job properly on a fairly large cooking surface it has. I have been using this grill daily and so far I have cooked Chicken, kebobs, fish on cedar planks and grilled vegetables, everything turned out perfect! The food was juicy with the best flavor I have ever had from a gas grill, No cold spots on the grill. The grill heats up to 550* in just 5 minutes and 700* in less then 10 minutes, very remarkable for a 38000 BTU grill, very efficient to say the least. My last BBQ was rated @ 60000 BTU and it was never near that temperature, not to mention hot and cold spots everywhere. If you need a new grill and are debating which one to buy, save yourself further headaches and buy a Weber, You will be glad you did. May 22, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Weber Genesis S-330 propane grill Bought this grill early Spring 2011 and it has been a pleasure to work with! Quality materials and construction gives a good feeling every time I use it (to paraphrase the old saying - price paid is soon forgotten but you have to live with the product for years). I assembled this unit myself in about 3 hours (HD offers free assembly but had a big backlog) so got to see the good quality, design and good fit and finish of all the parts. The assembly instructions were pictorial-based, easy to follow and the parts are numbered according to order of assembly. My previous BBQ was a 1990s, standard open-frame, cast aluminum body, run-of-the-mill cooker which was rebuilt at least twice, and again needed work due to rust, etc., and I was not happy with heat control, excessive smoking from food cooking, etc. This Genesis unit has such even heating across the grill surface, and great control of the temp with the gas valves. I have not had any issue with flare-ups (unlike old BBQ) due to the interior design of the tube burners and covers ("flavourizer bars") over them. I look forward to long life of the stainless steel cooking grate (7mm diameter SS rods) and SS warming rack. I note that the BBQ warms up to ~500 Fahrenheit in about 4-5 minutes using the 3 main burners in 10 Celsius ambient (outdoor) temp which seems reasonably fast. This is measured at the temp gauge on the lid, which quickly drops the temp reading whenever you open the hood (and let the heat out). The gauge is very responsive, so that it again shows up the temp build up after closing. I wouldn't mind having a temp indicator at the grill surface, but this is not included ( I did buy an accessory meat thermometer with remote display unit for portability/convenience). I am cooking meats on the left and center of the grill (having extra heat available from sear burner on that side), and veggies and vegetarian fare exclusively on the right side. I find I have adequate space with this 3-burner BBQ for this purpose. I have read some online buying advice that anything smaller than a 4-burner BBQ is too small, but I do not find this to be the case. I suppose it is a personal preference and a matter of how many you are cooking for. I love having the enclosed cart for protection and storage of accessories, although the one included shelf's primary purpose is to hold the removable drip catch pan, leaving not much room for anything else on it. You will mainly be piling your stuff on the floor of the cart. It would benefit from additional adjustable shelving and hooks for tools, IMHO, and there is space. I will be adding something myself. The drip pan parts are easily removed for cleaning, and includes several reusable and disposable aluminum foil trays, so that is a nice touch. The right hand side of the cart interior is mainly taken up by the propane tank and hoses. Also appreciated is the built in propane tank weigh scale which shows approximate amount of fuel remaining. The scale function is based on gross weight of tank, so must use correct type of tank for weight and fit (the tank hangs by its' top collar on the scale). To quote the Weber owners' guide: "Weber recommends the use of cylinders manufacturer's Manchester and Worthington, with a 47.6 lb. water capacity. Other cylinders may be acceptable for use with the appliance provided they are compatible with the appliance retention means (see illustrations)". My tank purchased from a common southern-Ontario BBQ tank exchange service was compatible, and I believe most available tanks will fit (keep in mind this BBQ is designed AND manufactured in North America). I already had an accessory fuel gauge on the tank outlet so I have back-up indication. The smooth-rolling casters have large double wheels all around, and locks on the front casters so it is easy to manouvre the BBQ and secure it. Moving over uneven surfaces will still be a bit of a challenge as the unit is quite solid and heavy (173lb assembled + tank, if I recall correctly from specs.), so the wheels have to be lifted over ridges or obstacles. I have not used the side burner yet, but it appears to have good flame (heat) control range, and it has its' own piezo ignitor. The side burner/ shelf is a separate pre-assembled unit which is simply bolted onto the BBQ frame and a quick-connect fitting (similar to air line fittings) is used to connect it to the gas system. When side burner is in use you pretty much lose the use of that shelf space for other purposes. Side shelves are large and sturdy, with tool hooks at ends, but I still wish for additional working space. Perhaps an additional shelf could be fitted below one of the existing ones, and/or a tray (trough?) along the lower front edge of the existing shelves for oil, spice and sauce bottles- this would keep plastic bottles away from the heat of the cast aluminum cooking body. For now I just place a small side table near by for pans, trays, serving dishes, etc. I note that the stainless steel shelves and door fronts are magnetic (not 304 alloy SS?); I have to trust Weber they will not rust, and will take some care to keep them in good condition. Speaking of the doors, they are easily removable, as they pivot on pins at bottom and top; the top ones are spring-loaded and retractable so doors are easily taken off if needed. You will have to do this before first use of the BBQ as Weber strongly recommends leak-testing the gas lines and fittings at that time and any time after moving, disassembling or moving the BBQ occurs. You need to first remove the doors, to remove the metal covers over the gas valves and manifold assembly, to apply soapy water solution. Not a big operation, just a #2 Phillips screwdriver required and about 10 minutes. Lastly, one of the small things I enjoy about the BBQ is the electronic ignition system, employing an AA battery in the ignitor button, to provide continuous sparks to all 4 burner tubes when the button is pressed. Burner ignition is reliable and instantaneous with a light press of the button. All in all, an enjoyable BBQ to spend time with, creating meals for family & friends. May 10, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Grillin' and Chillin' Like a King Assembly: We decided to buy the item without the free assembly due to its size, as it certainly wouldn't fit in the back of a full-sized SUV with the side shelves attached. At nearly 200 lbs, you'll need two strong people to carry it from the car to it's final destination once you're home, but it beats having to rent a truck and hauling the thing fully assembled. The instructions are pictorial and easy to follow - just take your time and be sure not to cross-thread any of the pre-tapped holes. It comes with a cheap wrench, so I recommend busting out your socket set before you even start. Using the right tools will probably save you 20 minutes of assembly time... that's 20 minutes of grill time earned at the end of the day. Cooking: This thing is a beast. I used to have a high-end Vermont Castings LP grill, which was very well built and worked perfectly. Being that I have been spoiled by already experiencing the benefits of cooking on a top-quality grill, I knew that Weber was the way to go. I'm exceptionally happy by the decision to go with this model. The cast-iron grates are amazing at retaining heat (think sear marks on the second side of your steak), and the unit itself heats to ~700 degrees within 15 minutes on a 60 degree day. I plopped a Lodge cast iron griddle on the top of the grates for searing, which gives you the option to cook delicate fish/seafood (I did tuna steaks and scallops) while you grill your steak/chicken in the standard fashion. The first day of grillin'/chillin' season was a huge success, and I'm already looking forward to many more to come. Don't waste $300 every two years on one of the other lesser made grills that will disappoint in value and cooking results - this thing will not let you down. April 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by You get what you pay for! I thought I was being thrifty when I purchased a 5 burner grill for half of what the Weber E330 costs. The grill couldn't reach 500 degrees and the side burner wouldn't ignite so I returned it. A friend of mine has a saying, "it only take a few more dollars to go first class". I decided to go "first class" and get the Weber Genesis E330. HD assembled it for free so I took it home and fired it up. The temp rose to 675 degrees in less than 15 minutes! Very solid construction with even cooking and temp control. It is a great grill that I anticipate will last for a long time. Very happy with this purchase! July 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Weber E-330 -- Great Grill! Yes, this product is on the pricey side (Home Depot had the best price that I could find). But this is a Weber. They work extremely well, and they last longer than any other brand that I've ever owned...and, prior to Weber, I owned several. In fact, I still have and use my previous Weber from 14 years ago (see it next to my new E-330 in the attached picture). I like that the E-330 has a lot of grill area over 3 burners (4 if you count the 'sear' burner, too). The heat was controlled better than with other brands, so my cooking is almost precise. I also like the ample side shelves for managing food, seasonings, and sauces; the numerous knobs for hanging utensils and towels; and the generous storage space in the cabinet under the grill. I acquired mine online with the help of an in-store associate, and I assembled it myself with ease. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. June 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MOST FUN GRILLING I HAVE EVER HAD !!! My Copper E-330 is by far the best outdoor grill I have ever owned. Love the SEAR STATION !! I also purchased the SMOKER BOX that comes with its own replacement grate so that it fits seamlessly in place I consider myself a fanatic when it comes to outdoor grilling. I own 3 grills and a smoker that I love to use. The new Weber Genesis E-330 is so much fun to use. It holds a consistent temp better than any grill I have ever cooked on and is built very solid. The smoker box works well for adding flavor but will not replace a true smoker. We have made CEDAR PLANK SALMON, PIZZA, LOTS OF CHICKEN and most recently a 2 lb RIBEYE for Father's Day. All have turned out perfectly !! I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO A CHEAP GRILL AGAIN !! June 18, 2013
