No. It will take about two hours to assemble the parts. The directions are clear and only hand tools are required. It is well worth the effort. You can get a conversion kit for natural gas.

Answer:
It is not shipped assembled, it comes in a HUGE box - we had no problems putting it together, there were actually some extra screws and stuff too... not that I anticipate losing any parts but you never know! We have propane out here so I don't know about the natural gas but I imagine it could be converted easily.

It needs to be assembled. The 330 comes in natural gas or propane, but you most chose. The E -330 is the propane model. I believe the S model is natural gas.

Am I crazy? This thing doesn't get hot!

We purchased this grill after reading all the great reviews. Buy it from Home Depot assembled, great, grand, wonderful. Get it home, it won't light. After tearing it apart, replacing the regulator nothing changes, so we exchange it for a new one. This one lights, but it doesn't get that hot. I mean, I can hold my hand down to the burner when it's on high. Is that normal?

My local hardware store, Ed Youngs in Williamsville, NY, has a great comment on their website regarding this problem:
The Flow Limiting Device or Bypass Safety Feature
What is the Flow Limiting Device/ Bypass Safety Feature?
-LP tank manufacturers are required to add a Flow Limiting Device (FLD) to all 20# tanks. This device prohibits gas flow when an excessive amount is detected.
Why does this occur?
-Generally the FLD is triggered because the lighting instructions for the grill may have been followed improperly. If the control valves are turned on BEFORE the LP tank is turned on, the FLD will trigger. This prevents an excessive amount of gas from entering the grill prior to lighting. If this gas were allowed to accumulate, "flare up" or injury may occur. The FLD prevents this.
How do I know if the FLD has been triggered?
The most common symptoms are as followed:
1. Burners won’t light
2. Burners have a small flickering flame in HIGH position.
3. Barbecue temperature only reaches 250-300 degrees in the HIGH position.
How do I reset the FLD?
Resetting the FLD is simple; just follow the 7 easy steps.
1. Be sure the LP tank and control knobs on the grill are in the "OFF" position.
2. Disconnect the hose and regulator from the tank.
3. Turn all the control knobs on the grill to the HIGH position.
4. Wait for about 1 minute. This allows the excessive gas to escape thereby resetting the FLD.
5. After waiting one minute, return all control knobs to the OFF position.
6. Reconnect the hose and regulator to the LP tank.
7. FLD is now reset, test the grill by following the operator’s instructions on lighting the grill or refer to the list below.
Lighting Instructions
1. Start by slowly turning the valve on the LP tank on…all the way.
2. Turn the front burner knob to the HIGH position and hit the Crossover Ignition Switch.
3. Check to be certain that the front burner is lit through the match hole located in the front of the grill’s cook box.
4. After front burner is lit, you may continue to turn the remaining control valves to the HIGH position Read Less

I'm the original poster and wanted to share what my problem was.
I can't believe I over looked this...
The side burn must have slipped on during transport (2 hours from nearest home depot). With that burner on, the safety mechanism kicked in.
Anyway, make sure ALL burns are off when starting.

Answer:
May not be able to solve your problem but 2 things come to mind:
1. Weber states that their design is to cook with the lid closed.
2. Check for gas leak in the assembly. When you open the tank, if there is a leak (or a burner is ON) the regulator will throttle the gas to a pilot light.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 241 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality Construction Purchased the S-330. This is our 3rd weber that we've bought for ourselves (and another as a housewarming gift). Wouldn't purchase any other brand. Very happy with it. The searing function as part of the actual grill is great. I find some of the other grills are so LARGE they become cumbersome. This one is the perfect size. ADVICE? If you can, spend the $40 and let Home Depot assemble it. Most of the review issues are about assembly. May 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Top Notch I picked up mine at the Aurora store a week ago (Father's day gift in Advance), luckily they had one assembled and ready to go. However, after using it for just a couple of days, I noticed rust like specks on the stainless surfaces (the BBQ was used with a cover right from the first day). The folks at Home Depot Aurora were very co-operative and agreed to replace it. The next one had to be assembled and I waited 3-4 days for that. Finally after replacement and using it for another couple of times, I am extremely happy with the results. This Weber looks extremely good and cooks even better. A very well built unit with top quality materials. Heats up super quick, 600degF in approx. 8-9 minutes. I have already tried steak, burgers, veggies, sausages, Chicken breast and everything turned out just perfect.. this BBQ allows very precise control of temperature while cooking. Very Happy with this one.. May 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Finally have a Weber! I looked for a new grill for 2 months, reading reviews and deciding how much to spend. My original budget of $500 lead me to some nice grills, but some not so perfect reviews. After reading the reviews on E330, I decided that the additional money was going to be worth the quality of the grill I was going to be getting. I loved putting the grill together. The instructions were easy to follow and the grill was packaged so well I could not believe it. The packaging was high quality which speaks volumes of the quality product inside. This is an awesome grill and look forward to a couple decades of use out of it. A great family addition!!! May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent performance Assembly requires fairly good handyman skills. Overall not bad. Lifting the tank onto the scale was the most challenging task. It's an awkward maneuver. Even with these minor "room for improvement" issues, this is a marvelous grill. Would recommend. September 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Finally steaks the way we like them!!!! Our new Weber E-330 Genesis Grill has been a great addition. We spend a lot of time outside during the warm summer months and the Weber has not disappointed us yet. It cooks evenly without overcooking and with the searing component we can sear our steak and chicken and then grill retaining the moist taste while gaining a fully cooked exterior. It also cooks our grilled vegetables that we put on the grill in a basket allowing different temperatures on either side of the grill. With the high winds we have in our outdoor living area the Genesis heavy top secures the grill from being blown around. Overall we are very pleased with our purchase. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome grill This grill is awesome. Heats evenly, the the sear station, really well built. Highly recommend. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Incredible Grill Grill is awesome.........cooks the perfect "Pittsburgh" steak..... grill gets hot and stays hot.... August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Weber E330 Grille Excellent Assembly is quite easy as long as you follow the instructions. The grille itself looks fantastic and works like a charm. Extremely satisfied September 2, 2016
