Product Overview

The Genesis S-330 natural gas grill boasts a side burner and sear station each with separate controls to provide extra cooking options for outdoor chefs who like to mix it up. This cart-style grill gleams with sleek stainless steel constituting almost every piece of its body. Under the hood, a 3-Burner firebox supplies 38,000 BTUs of maximum heat across a sizable 507 sq. in. primary cooking area where two stainless steel cooking grates await your tender morsels. Separate front-mounted knobs regulate each of the stainless steel burners, while five Flavorizer bars below the grates disperse heat and vaporize food drippings into smoky puffs of flavor. Right and left side platforms provide abundant space to situate bowls, plates and utensils while grilling, with each table having three integrated hooks from which to hang spatulas, tongs, cooking forks and basting brushes.

  • 3 stainless steel burners inside firebox generate ample heat and resist buildup of gunk
  • Main grilling area receives up to 38,000 BTUs of radiant heat; side burner = 12,000 BTUs; sear-station = 10,000 BTUs
  • 2 stainless steel cooking grates are outfitted with 7 mm rods
  • Grill several food items concurrently across 637 sq. in. of total cooking area (including warming rack)
  • Push-button electronic igniter enables surefire, hassle-free start-ups
  • Burners and sear station have independent dials to isolate and regulate heat output
  • Cart-style construction features heavy duty swivel caster wheels (front casters have locking mechanisms)

Answer:
Heating any stainless steel at high temperatures will cause the carbon atoms to migrate to the surface.
Carbon rusts quite easily. Passivating the stainless steel will fix the rust problem. Our company uses Citrisurf 2250 to passivate our stainless steel tanks after the tanks are welded.

Bummer.
There are so many grades of SS; besides the added chromium [rust inhibitor] and nickel [e.g. "18/10" means 18% Cr and 10% Ni], there are other metals added ... which you only know if you know the "Type", e.g. Type 316.

So, the answer to your question is "it depends".
Since I'm getting ready to buy this unit, I'm real curious to know what Webber told you. With your experience, I doubt they told you both the racks and the cover are from T-316 [marine-grade] SS. Read Less

Answer:
Because it is made of low quality Stainless Steel. Weber went to a cheaper grade a few years ago. My 10 year old Weber is rust free and kept outdoors in Wisconsin. The new ones should last as long. Rust should be covered under warranty.

You can but you probably won't get the results you expected. I use the products that are designed for the cleaning, i.e., the wire brush and cleaners that are found in the store where the grills are located. You might try some spray on oven cleaners and the wire brush to remove the baked on residue then squirt off the grates with a hose. I also use tin foil on the grates with some pan spray. Answer:
Not sure what you mean by "converter".
You will need the natgas "conversion kit", which are different orifices, and a hose which will connect the grille to your gas line.

Answer:
Hello, Thanks for your question! Yes, The Genesis S-330 NG can be connected directly to a natural gas source by using the supplied 1/2" quick disconnect fitting included with the grill. A qualified gas installer may be needed to make the connection depending on the particulars of your gas line. Thanks!

a coating like iron grates with porcelain. Ask WEBER customer service to verify. JAKE

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Haven't used it. waiting for natural gas hook-up Can't review this product - haven't used or hooked it up yet. Have owned many Webers in the past and would not have spent the extra money if I didn't like them. There was a $100 off promotional in all stores but i was not able to get it because I couldn't find natural gas anywhere but on line. That was not fair. Also had problems with shipping. Was given a tracking # and it fell off the map. After waiting until after the latest delivery date, i finally had to call and find out that that it got put on wrong truck and sent back. Then was given a new delivery date and that was late also. SAIA was deliver company. October 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No more running out of propane I had to order this BBQ because the store didn't stock it. I had it come to the store & picked it up. I didn't want it to be delivered to our home with damage. Putting it together took about 1 1/2 hours. The BBQ works awesome. I grilled some rib eye steaks. The searing station is a very good feature. Best of all no more propane tanks ever to fill up anymore. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just a beautiful piece of work! October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Weber as grill This a great grill. I like the way that it sears meats and locks in the juices. October 11, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not working I got it and put it together. I hooked it up to the Natural gas and all the burners in the grill started. I tried to start the side burner and it did not start. It lit just fine with a lighter. I called Home Depot and they said they would contact Weber. I received a email notification that told me they needed the serial number. They did not tell me where to locate the serial number in the email. I spent 10 minutes looking for the serial number before I gave up. So I had to call back. After being on hold for several minutes. I was told where to locate it. It is in the cabinet. I was not smart enough to look inside the cabinet. They also told me I could email it to them. I found the serial number and found out I can not email it to them. The email they sent me said do not reply! So now I have to call them back. I have spent more time on hold then it took me to put it together. Well, you get the picture. We have all experienced a story like this, one time or another. I have used the grill a couple of times and I do think it will be a great grill. September 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Weber gas grill This Weber gas grill is nice looking, heats quickly and evenly. The only thing negative about it, is the gas line fitting should have been sized for 1/2" pipe not 3/8". Outside gas lines are 1/2" by code. I had to run to the hardware store to buy a reducer fitting and 3/8" nipple October 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by First Weber...love it! The grill lights easily, heats quickly, and cooks evenly. October 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality Grill Very good quality grill. A lot of assembly steps but worth it. Looks like it will last. Have used it only once but worked very well. September 27, 2016
