Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 105 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Weber Charcoal grill I selected this grill, because I've been a weber owner for many years and have been happy with my food. I like this one, because I had a choice of colors and also, because I'm familiar with the product. Many of my neighbors have large gas grills on their decks or patios that seem to be idle most of the time. I use my charcoal grill regularly, especially during spring and summer and enjoy the smoky flavor charcoal grilling provides without having to heat up the kitchen with the oven. I also like this particular one, because I can regulate the heat pretty well and the ash catcher makes cleanup a breeze. I love cooking all types of food on my grill. It's a keeper and I also like the cookbook and recipes that came with it and will use them to perfect my queing experience. I rated the grill 4 out of 5 stars, because I would have liked a hybrid gas/charcoal, but am still glad I purchased a new weber. June 15, 2006
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Weber's the best! I've been a long-time user of Weber charcoal grills, and when my last One-Touch was stolen, I waited until I moved into my new house to buy the One-Touch Gold. Having had experience with the ash sweeper (which is a great idea), I knew I wanted a better containment system that an open tray where wind blows the ashes (and sparks) wherever, and I knew I wanted a hinged grate to add charcoal, or wood chunks. The One-Touch Gold has these features, and more. I like the new composite handles that won't rot off like my old wooden handles did, and I've never seen a spot of rust on the porcelain coated parts on any of my Webers. Overall, you can't go wrong with this grill. August 7, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best of the best! I've BBQ'ed for 40 years with Weber and others, gas and charcoal. Charcoal gives the best taste and control for GREAT, not good, GREAT cooking. The problems with the older Webers were ash collection and wasting charcoal. To get the heat you want needs an amount of charcoal to fit the grill. This grill, with the addition of semi-circle charcoal holders solves all the probelms to give you the best at a fraction of the cost of expensive gas grills. Ash easily goes down to pan underneath. With the semi-circle charcoal holders, you can re-use charcoal from last time, even for a small fire. Would not buy anything else. FIVE stars! And buy a cover! July 10, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Become a Backyard Expert After buying many books referencing rubs, grilling and smoking ($200.00) I embarked on an upright smoker. Cost was around $300.00 not including accessories. After learning the tricks of the trade such as how to adjust your dampers. Open the bottom full blast as the oxygen is the fuel for the fire. And then adjust the top to regulate the temperature. Low temp 200-225 produces the best meats. By the time I realized that it was not feasible to cook a rack of ribs, a brisket, a loin, etc. by themselves it had proved too costly. The price of fuel is what I am referring too. The cost of charcoal is approximately $10.00 and the wood is an additional $10.00 per cookong. That is kinda of cost prohibited for just a small amount. You must load the smoker too capacity such as 5 racks of ribs, 2 briskets and2 loins as well as sausage, etc. You can figure the cost for that. Then you have to freeze all that or give it away. Needless to say you don't do this too often. A neighbor of mine suggested that next time I cook she could throw in a couple of slabs of ribsfor her. She would buy the ribs. I am glad she could not hear my secret reply. There is far too much work involved in a smoker. And the builders and designers are not interested in building small units. For those who entertain or follow the cookoffs this is ideal. I know there are supposedly upright smokers that are suppose to work, but in reality they don't. The reason is that they are the wrong size. You can't use a rib rack or cook a loin without cutting it. I have used Weber One-Touches and they are great. If you want to cook for you and your wife or have a party they can sustain all of the above. Here is the biggest reason I prefer the 22.5" One-Touch over everything. Weber has taken the work out of gilling and smoking with charcoal and wood. They have seriously considered us backyard chefs. They want us to have fun and be successful. Where else can you find a grill which is the prooper size to cook one or five racks of ribs at a time. And the accessories do all the work for you. The One-Touch coupled w/the lid holder keeps from having to set the lid down while you are adding wood to smoke or rejuvunating the charcoal for temperature control. The hinged grate allows you ease of adding fuel. The chimney starters eliminate all that nasty smelling fuel. Unless you are a fire bug. Perhaps you are basting or glazing. This is such a help. Adding the fuel holders enables you to accomplish the ever important indirect cooking. The drip pans alow you to catch the drippings. The cleaning system is beyond its time. I can not say too much about this system. It is a system, simple, effective and above all absolutely functional in design and perfect in thought. Weber has thought of the consumer. They want you to have fun. I know you will disagree that the price is too high. Kindly think of how many smokeys, hybachies and water baths you have purchased as well as the literature and your precious time you have wasted and go buy a Weber One-Touch and become a true backyard chef. Maybe even a professional tailgater. Even your friends will encourage you to cook for them. When you can make paellae on your grille you have reached the pinnacle of Weber backyard cooking. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Everything came and worked as expected I received the grill in about 3 days. I unpacked it and everything was there and the lid was not bent as some had experienced. I've smoked pork and ribs on it since I've had it and it does an excellent job. I love the blue color and am very happy with it so far. April 11, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Propane grill is now my backup I bought this thinking it would be a nice adjunct to my propane grill. Little did I know that this would become my favorite grill. It smokes great, sears a steak better then anything I have ever tried and the heat is easily controllable. Wish I would have gone bigger, but will probably just buy a second one. November 14, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This Grill Catches the hot ashes before they blow to the wind and create a grass fire, especially here in Central Texas. Ash removal is easy. I'm 60 years young and I've owned different types of Grills as BBQ is my favorite sport. Weber and especially this model without a doubt is the best you can buy in my opinion. You pay a little more ... but you get a lot more. I had one that lasted me almost seven years and I am not just a weekend BBQ warrior. I've been known to cook chicken when it's snowing (Flagstaff, AZ). I just hope Weber doesn't go cheap on its material as some companies do when they gain fame. Buy one and you will see. As a tip .... try putting your smoke chunks on top of the grill above the charcoal when you use the charcoal side pans ... the smoke last longer and the food is moist and at the very least ... extremely delicious.
