Very surprised that the Weber replacement grates aren't the same as the original grates. These are cheaper imitation with lighter weight cast iron and less runners. The wider space between each runner is much easier to drop food through and as one other review mentioned less grilling area than the original design. Shame on Weber for pushing an inferior aftermarket product on its customers. At $70 they can offer the original equipment and still make plenty of profit. They offer stainless steel, but the price is obnoxious. Next time I'll look for a competitor product. Note, I'm a big fan of Weber grills, there're the only grills I purchase.

It is fine. Does the job for 4 to 5 years. Weber makes a good simple gas grill.

these are cast iron only - not porcelain coated. I did not want coated grates. they are good quality.

Slightly smaller than my originals , leaves a space at the edges ........the flavorizer bars fit fine .

The grates themselves are perfect, but don't order them online. I ordered them and a week later I received an empty box with taped ends. If you order new flavorizer bars, check the length first, evidently there are more than one size for Genesis 300 series grills

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Terry252 cast iron cooking grates worked great
I made a charcoal grill out of brick pavers and bought the cast iron cooking grates which fit perfect in my set up. I only needed one grate but since it came in a 2-pack I always have a clean spare ready to use.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SoreFingerz Thanks!
Read the reviews prior to my planned trip to HD to buy new grates. The coating is all worn off of my old set. Now after discovering that the wider, flat side up is the correct way to install these grates, I will use oven cleaner and HP sprayer to clean the gunk off and put the still new shiny side up as it should have been and get another 5 years out of 'em! AND it sounds like it will cook better! Thanks to you other contributor(s) who set me straight. (Already bought new flavorizers and burners) Now a tip in return from me. A-Maze-N smoker = 5 stars. Use with one burner on low (temp 200 +/- a few degrees) indirect heat and you will be very pleased. Did a pork tenderloin so far with smokehouse maple rub and got tons of compliments. Sear the meat initially. (Full disclosure - No I don't work for them or have any connection with Amazen Products)
