Restyled for 2014, the Weber Q 240 is now the Weber Q 2400. The grill has the same great performance and sleek styling, but adds new aesthetics that are both functional and fun, including larger grip handle and control knobs, ergonomic side handles, sturdy front and rear cradles plus the familiar Weber Q logo branded on the lid. The Weber Q 2400 Electric Grill raises the bar on flavor expectations and performance of an electric grill. Sear burgers, steaks and chops; grill chicken, fish, vegetables and fruit on the porcelain-enameled cast-iron grates. The Weber Q 2400 grill is fully featured, yet space-saving and portable - just the ticket for grillers living in condos or any residence where restrictions govern gas and charcoal usage.

Does it really take 15 minutes to heat up?

I understand that it has to heat but 15 minutes is a bit long. If you were using an undersized extension or a line that is not rated for 20 amps, I could see this happening.

Answer:
Yes, you need to allow the grill proper warm up time, or you are going to be disappointed with longer cook times and dried out food.

The biggest challenge some people face is unlearning what they learned from gas grills. The heat is not instantaneous. FWIW, I have a nice big propane grill (at a different residence) in addition to this electric grill. I preheat the propane for 20+ minutes every time so that I can properly scrape/brush and pre-oil the cast iron cooking grates. The flavor you get off the grill is going to be related to the time you invest in prep prior to actually cooking. Read Less

Answer:
15 minutes is the standard pre-heat time for all Weber grills whether they are charcoal, gas or electric. Through our rigorous design and testing process, we have determined that 15 minutes is the average amount of time it will take the unit to heat up adequately to properly cook any food that is desired.

Answer:
With steaks and hamburg, after preheating, I cook on high with the lid open. If you like these items cooked medium, 2 to 3 minutes per side I found was sufficient.
Chicken after preheating. I cooked two minutes on each side on high with the lid open. Then put temperature to medium and cooked 4 to 5 minutes with the lid down.
Food tastes comparable to gas grill.

I have owned only a propane gas grill in the past and was able to keep it outdoors all winter with the cover made for it protecting it from moisture but not cold. Will I be able to keep the Weber 2400 outdoors with a cover as well all winter?

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 30 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Electric grill As we have gotten older and do less grilling this table top grill without the need for gas tanks is just the ticket. August 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Item!! Works perfect for my daughter without the fear of propane! Plenty of space for meat and vegetable. Cooks evenly. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great grill for a small space Have enjoyed the grill so far. Use for my balcony and, after ~15 minutes, is sufficiently hot to cook anything, similar to a gas grill. Very convenient not to have to worry about running out of propane. July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for family use So nice to have portability and never run out of propane again! Grill takes about 15 minutes to set up. At first, I was bothered by a lack of temperature guage, but just like a flame, you can estimate and remember a good level and if you know how to grill, you just have a sense of when things are done. A temp probe in your pork and poultry never hurts, either. Very clean and grills with even heat. No hot spots like a gas/propane grill. Works well for a family of 4-6. June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great! Easy to assemble...Easy to use....Large enough to cook 6-8 steaks and at least 12 hamburger patties. Love it! July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding Grill I had a propane grill in the past, but when I moved i needed an electric grill. I have had the Q2400 for 2 months now and had NO Problems with the grill. I clean the grill grates regularly and clean the grill pan as well (Very easy to remove and put back in) need to get used to the grilling times. I have had Burgers, Steak, Kabobs, and not had an issue with grilling.) Purchase the grill stand for $99.00 it's worth it. July 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We're happy! works great...we're happy! would buy it again. good service....quick delivery.. June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic BBQ This grill replaced an older one that we had had for years - it is larger and has wider grill grates. Went together easily and cooks great! May 24, 2016
