No grill that I have ever seen comes with a tank unless there's a store promo or something. It's only about $24.99 to buy a filled tank, and then $19.99 to exchange your empty one for a filled out.

the burgers and chicken we have cooked lack the charcoal taste that my old gas grill gave us. i think the addition of "rocks" would change that. is there anything we can use?

I really like the flavorizer bars that come with the Weber. They give the food a grilled taste. I also use the Weber Smoker Box, which is also good for flavor, and giving food that "outdoorsy" taste. You don't need lava rocks.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Lava rocks are not recommended to be used inside any Weber grill. As you grill more food on the cast iron cooking grates, the Weber Spirit E-210 grill will begin to season. Also, using wood chips or chunks in a smoker box can add additional smokey flavor. If you have any further questions, please contact Weber Customer Service at 1-800-446-1071.

Answer:
The flavorizer bars just below the grills should be doing that. However, if you want a more smoky taste I would recommend purchasing a bag of wood chips (mesquite, hickory, etc.) and soaking them for 30 minutes then wrapping them in foil and placing directly on the grill. Be sure to poke some holes in the foil as that will allow the smoke to escape. Another option is to try some planks of cedar or alder. Read More

Chicken and fish are particularly good this way. Read Less

No, you can't use "rocks" in this grill. But I supposed you could set a small container of damp wood chips on the cooking grill then cook with the lid closed to get the flavor you want.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 210 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WEBER IS THE BEST Very happy with this grill. The size is perfect for a couple. I especially like the grease collection system on this grill which is much better than the cheap grills that were purchased in the past. I don't experience the flare ups like I did in the past. This grill seems to be very well made and it works well too. The hanging tank setup is a little tricky when installing a tank but at least you have a gauge to measure the tank level. Overall I am very, very happy with this purchase. I wish that I had spent the extra few bucks and went with the Weber years ago. I expect this grill to last a good long time. April 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solid High quality lastOrdered online and picked up unassembeled because the in-store unit had a cheap perforated front panel. Was able to get one with a solid metal hinged front door on-line. Assembly instructions were great. All parts were high quality and fit together perfectly. Works fine and should a long time. May 10, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by haven't benn sble to use Spirit E210 yet When 1st using the grill it needs to warm up to about 500°. The grill I purchased would not get past 300°. I had to call Weber support 4 times and after trying all the solutions suggested (All of which alluded to the idea that I doing something wrong.), and after changing gas tanks twice to no avail, it was determined the Weber gas regulator must be at fault. The Weber support person said they would send a new one, but it would take 7 to 10 working days. I have had the grill for a week and haven't been able to use it yet . The least to they should do is overnight the new regulator. But.... I can not recommended the grill because I've never been able to use it. March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great grill. The grill works great. Instructions to assemble the grill were bery easy follow, took less then and hour to put it completely together. No missing parts and have the screw and washer bags labeled made everything very easy. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great grill but received damaged. I have only had the grill a short time so I gave it 5s based on the short time I had it. Only time will tell if the quality and value maintains my rating, so I may update the review over time. Also, I believe ratings are very subjective as it depends on your expectations. My previous grill was a piece of junk and it was a hassle to get it to work or even get enough heat to cook anything. This heats up very fast and has solid construction. It is easy to roll around in and out of our garage and the two front wheels lock into place if needed. We have had no issues with grilling or heat distribution and our food has turned out great but I am no expert. The grill comes with some basic grilling guides for different types of food and explains how to use direct and indirect heat. Weber has some on-line videos on cleaning the grill, etc. which I found helpful answering some questions that many including myself have asked. I had this unit delivered unassembled so I could assemble. I wanted to know how it works in case I needed to disassemble for cleaning or if I had any issues. Also, some reviewers advised against having it pre-assembled as the retailers frequently did not assembled it properly or it came damaged. The packaging was quite impressive. Weber packs the unit extremely well. The box would really have to get knocked around to damage the parts. The instructions for assembly are very well written and it is very easy to assemble. I thought they were better than Ikea assembly instructions. Unfortunately the door and base panel were damaged. If I had to guess I would say this happen at the HD warehouse. I suppose it is possible it happened during delivery but even if the driver dropped the box out of the UPS truck I doubt it would be damaged because it is packaged so well. The door was dented and concave. Something had to strike it very hard and fast to cause that kind of damage as the metal was actually creased (maybe a forklift). The Base panel which the unit is mounted and sits on which has the four wheels and supports the grill was dented and bent. I tried to straighten it out to no avail. I called Weber about 9:30 PM and described the damage. With no questions they said they would ship out the new parts immediately. They did ask me to send pictures to see if they could decipher if they had a quality control issue or production issue. The parts were delivery two days later. That is great service and what you would expect as I was expecting a hassle. I tried to upload a picture of the damage for my review but it would not accept it because the pixel height and width did not meet the minimum size required? May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good grill well made easy to use cooked well , good features. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by An expensive, superior product This gas grill was selected with a very special purpose in mind. It was intended as a selected wedding gift for my grandson, chosen to satisfy their needs now and for years to come. The purchasing experience at Home Depot was entirely satisfactory and met all of our expectations. Thank you so much. April 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy Assembly - Great Product This was my first time assembling a grill and my first Weber. It took about 2 hours (1 person) but the instructions were clear and all parts were included with no issues. I was hesitant to buy online but it was a great experience and was delivered very quickly. Looking forward to a spring/summer full of grilling! March 26, 2016
