The assembly instructions are clear and easy to follow. I didn't time myself, but it probably took me 1/2 hour once you go over the instructions and get a wrench and screwdriver.

Answer:
Really not that difficult. Took me only 1-2 hours, and only had help with one tiny part (feeding lines and wires down through a part while I held up the main grill). I think most people could do 90% of the work all alone and still be done in less than 2 hours.

The grill worked for 3 times and then shut off the gas completely. Weber customer service was responsive but not very knowledgeable about it, they said a regular flare fitting is not appropriate and damaged the "quick disconnect" connection that comes with the grill. No explanation why this might be so, there is nothing in the manual about if and why it would not be appropriate to make a standard connection. The plumber refuses to change what he did based on this obscure advise from Weber, other plumbers also say it makes no sense. Bottom line, I have a grill and cannot connect it to the gas line we had from the previous grill. Read Less

Why? It would probably cost you a service call. Your local gas company or a gas appliance installer can come out for a fee if you are not comfortable doing it yourself. The Home Depot employees can answer any questions you have right there in the store. If you already have a gas line all you need to do is determine the pipe size coming out of the house and if it's smaller or larger you can get fittings that will reduce or enlarge the pipe so it matches the fitting on the gas line hose. Don't forget you have to use Natural gas approved dope or tape on the threads of the pipes. Don't use the white tape. It's not made for natural gas lines.
Don't forget you need a shutoff outside.

My interest is once I have the center insert (vegetables/potatoes) and want to also grill a steak or chicken breast at the same time (food for one person maybe two). Is it better to get the 3 burner or will the 2 burner work in terms of surface grilling space?

We like the 310 as is it gives you the option of heating with the 2 outside burners and leaving the center one off ,for indirect heating. We usually cook for 2 only.

I would consider the 2 burner if you are only cooking for two people, you have plenty of room for all your meat and vegetables with space left. This grill can accommodate several items at one time!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Grill - Frustrating Screen The Grill itself is Great! I especially love the BBQ System. Unfortunately you have to sacrifice door on the grill just to get the BBQ system with Home Depot. Everywhere else they sell this rather expensive grill, it comes with a solid hinged metal door. This BBQ version comes with a flimsy cheap looking plastic screen. The screen itself is difficult to attach to all of the brackets because you cant really see them behind the screen as you try and attach it. It becomes rather annoying every time that you need to turn the gas to the grill on and off. You also can see the propane tank through the screen which takes away from the look of this otherwise beautiful grill. The Weber customer service also refused to sell me a door that would fit this grill. This would be the prefect grill otherwise. May 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by New grill We have been very happy with this grill. There was a damaged piece in the shipping but we decided not to replace it. Don't think it was packed well. August 23, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by I expected more from Weber I had to order this grill because HD doesn't have natural gas grills in stock. I ordered it expecting that a Weber product would be good quality. Everything about this grill seems cheaply made to me. I was especially disappointed with how the grill attaches to the base; it just sits on top with 2 screws. There was not an assembly guide in the box; either it was missing or the user is expected to assemble the grill without instructions. I think this grill was not worth the money. I'm concerned that it won't last in the south TX salt air. As a grill it works fine - cooks well. July 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great grill - loved the free assembly Bought this after looking on Consumer Reports for a reasonably-priced natural gas grill with good ratings. Very happy with this and it was great that it came assembled. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by So far, so good Easy to install after getting the proper gas plumbing. I was able to do myself after talking to a master plumber at Home Depot. Cost about an extra $6 for the parts. Hopping to get 10-years out of this grill. Front panel is a bit flimsy, but expected that based on the other reviews. Still trying to figure out how to keep the temperature stable. Keeps getting hotter than I would like. I assume there is a learning curve on that. Skillet pan is a cool feature. Cooked fajita veggies on it and brought the hot skillet in the house like at a restaurant. July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice BBQ This BBQ is wonderful and works very well. The only thing I don't like about the BBQ is that there is no front door that opens nicely, just a weird cover that is clumsy to take on and off of where to store stuff. For a 500 dollar BBQ, you would think the company would put a nice door on this BBQ. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Experience Great Grill Love the Grill. It is great to cook on as it heat evenly. Worth the extra dollars we spent on it. Love that Home Depot assembled it for us. Picking it up was easy and smooth. The gentleman who assembled it brought it out and helped us load it. You could tell he took care in assembling it and took care that it was loaded in our SUV in the best manner so that it (or the car) was not damaged. This grill fit into the back of our Ford Escape without to much problem. The E-310 model does not have folding side shelves (the E-210 does) so that made it a bit more of a challenge. Just needed to determine the best way to load it and again he knew exactly how that was going to be done. Excellence experience! Worth driving the extra miles to shop at Home Depot. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Grill Easy yo assemble, easy gas hookup, easy grilling, good eating. August 10, 2016
