Does the spirit E-310 come with a rotissery?

Asked by: Bill
it is available but needs to be purchased from Weber web site --you will need to get on your hands and knees to get the numbers off of the floor of the grill so that they get you the correct part

Propane tank sits on the ground?

One of the reviews complains that the propane tank sits on the ground, which means moving the grill around would be very difficult. That's not accurate, is it?
Asked by: m2m2
No, it's not. The tank is not supposed to sit on the ground. The tank is supposed to be mounted to & hang from the fuel gauge mechanism. So if your tank is on the ground, you're not using the grill correctly by not attaching the tank to the fuel gauge mechanism per the instructions, (or you didn't install the fuel gauge mechanism). The hole is there & bigger than the tank because when the tank is full & hanging from the gauge, it will hang below the bottom plate - the hole is big enough to allow for the diameter of the tank.

Is the propane tank supposed to sit on the ground? The place for it looks too large.

Asked by: steve4020
No, you hang it on the rack gauge to the side and it tells how much gas you have.

Customer Reviews

Spirit E-310 3-Burner Propane Gas Grill (Featuring the Gourmet BBQ System) in Black with Griddle Inserts is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 290.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from what a delight !! EASY TO ASSEMBLE: Only needed one screwdriver and one wrench... Took less than 2 hours to complete assembly, including unpacking all pieces... (BTW: packaging is one indication of quality and attention to detail. I have never seen anything packed so well. Ever.) Instructions are easy to follow... ENGINEERED / DESIGNED FOR QUALITY: you can see it... you can feel it... and when you grill your first meal on it, you can even taste the quality of this unit. America's Test Kitchen says it is the best grill under 500 bucks. Who am I to argue ? FEATURES: everything you want and need, even the things you didn't KNOW you needed. Near perfect. A real pleasure to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Grill, Terrible Front Panel I bought this for the modular plates and the reasonable price. In this sense, it's fantastic. However, I didn't pay attention to the front panel. I have no idea why it's not a hinged door! Instead, it's this flimsy panel that clings onto 4 posts. It's not easy to put on and off, for sure! I'm thinking about hacking it and putting in a door on my own. It shipped for free, but arrived disassembled as expected. It took about three hours from start to finish (and that's with one mistake). Considering that I've never done this before, I'd call the process easy! The only thing I recommend is to do the leak check prior to mounting the front panel for the first time. If you follow the directions sequentially, they have you mount it, complete the build fully, then take it off again for the leak check. I GOL'ed (grumbled out loud).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Grill, Terrible Door... I love everything about the grill, except for the door which you have to use to access the propane tank. Instead of using a hinged door with magnetic clasp they have opted to use a thin, cheap, plastic panel that has to be removed fully. Taking the panel off isn't really much of an issue, but putting it back is a major pain. The first time I put it on I scratched up the paint, which isn't the end of the world, but just seems like incredibly poor design. The interchangeable grates and other accessories are a nice option, and for me made the lack of a side burner a non-issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In LOVE I absolutely LOVE this grill more than anything I could ever love. I grill 4-5 times a week even during the winter and I know my grills this one is hands down worth every cent. I put it together myself very simple and the parts were very good quality everything fit properly and nicely. This grill cooks so evenly you don't need do constantly move your food around to make sure either. I grill one side then flip and grill the other. The gourmet bbq system is awesome and really easy to insert and remove for cleaning. Stop looking here and by this grill!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from impressed This is my 1st Weber propane grill. I have had plenty of the Weber charcoal grills. Cooked a beer can chicken with the insert and for the 1st time I didn't get to have any leftovers to make chicken noodle soup. The door, well cover is easy to take on and off. It is a little flimsy but I can see the tank reading without removing it. I can turn my tank on and off from the rear. I'll need to open the door/cover to change out the tank and to clean the drip pans. Even heat and hit 500 degrees pretty quick. I notice the quality when assembling the grill. Took me about an hour to assemble. 15 minutes to unbox and 45 minutes to assemble. Very easy instructions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Very Good Grill My only small complaints about this grill are; (1) the front cover is a pain to keep removing and replacing and would really be better served by having an actual door on it, and (2) maybe I was just naive in expecting the grill to come with the propane tank (which it didn't) which then cost me another $50 (filled). Other than these two small issues, the grill is fine. P.S. For those that are not mechanically inclined and worrying about some other reviewers statements about how long it took to assemble (in once case 3 hours!), I did it in only an hour and a half and probably 20 minutes of that was simply unpacking all the pieces and making sure I had everything.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Constantly under heating and flame goes out My wife wanted a nice grill for my birthday because I had a cheap-o Walmart grill that was falling apart after three years. She did her research and settled in this one. Unfortunately I have not experienced the positive experience she hoped I would. First of all, the wings are small. No big deal except that there's nowhere to put the accessories because the little notches they have for hanging things like spatulas and rings are too small to hold anything so I have to lay them down on the side platter area. Second of all, it takes forever to heat. My cheapie grill before would crank to 500 in a minute or two no problem. Sometimes this Weber never gets to 400 even if it's on for 20 minutes. Not sure why because it's a basic combustion of propane problem that shouldn't differ between grills... A stiff wind will make the flame go out. Since it takes so long to heat this is soooo frustrating. There's a cheap molded plastic "gate" on the front underneath to enclose the base where the propane is stored. It's cheap. It's hard to put on. Plus you can't access the propane tank to close the valve after use without taking off the clumsy gate (which completely detaches, doesn't hinge or anything) and there's not enough room to reach in and close it without taking the cover off or burning your arm in the process. The propane doesn't sit in a base. Instead, it hangs on a spring which tells you how much gas is left (vert loosely). Hard to get the tank on the spring when it is full with one awkward hand under the grill so the tank ends up resting in the ground anyway so I can't see he spring-loaded propane volume estimate plus I can't roll it around because the tank is sitting in my deck.
