Customer Questions & Answers

Spirit E-310 discontinued?

Are you discontinuing the Spirit E-310 model with Cast Iron Grates? It is not in stock online or in stores.
Asked by: Anonymous
After speaking with Home Depot and Weber I've got bad news. The 2012 version of the E-310 with Cast Iron Grates has sold out. Home Depot is out of stock and Weber will not be shipping additional units. Weber is producing a similar grill (there will be changes, but they don't have a full spec sheet out yet) for 2013 but it will not be released until October 1st of 2012. Weber was not able to confirm whether the 2013 version would continue to offer the Cast Iron Grates.

What does partial assembly required mean for the Weber E-310 gas grill, is it difficult to do?

Asked by: Anonymous
I read some reviews that the assembly can be difficult. I ordered the grill online with pickup at my local store. There was an option you could choose to have them assemble it prior to pickup. When I picked it up, the grill was all put together and ready to go! If you're concerned with the assembly, it's a great way to go. I do highly recommend the Weber. It's a very high quality grill!

Customer Reviews

Spirit E-310 3-Burner Propane Gas Grill with Cast Iron Grates-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 163.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from long term review Most reviews have to do with setup and initial use. This si more of an "after 2 year " review. After having ours for two years now I will say this grill is well worth the money. The components of this grill are still in excellent condition. We like to grill thru the winter and keep our grill outdoors year round. There have been times where it hasn't been covered. We treat this grill no different then past grills and by now we would be replacing parts on those grills, not the Weber. We don't neglect the grill but we probably don't take care of it like we should either. This spring I thoroughly cleaned the grill and checked everything and it is amazing how well it is holding up. The best part is the performance over time. This grill works just as great today as the first day we used it. The temp gauge, ignitor and burner control are as good as day one. The speed of heating to get the grill piping hot for a great steak or burger is amazing. When cooking chicken or pork the temperature control is spot on. In time you learn how to manipulate the burners for a perfectly cooked meal everytime, no matter what it is. The heavy duty grates are perfect and the best surface I ever grilled on. If you are reading this review like I was two years ago, deciding if this grill is worth the extra coin, then let me say it is worth every single penny. The day you take it home you immediately realize the quality of construction and performance. Two years from now you will probably be posting a review about how this is the best grill you ever owned and is money well this helps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but could've been great Everything about the grill is great except one issue. I don’t know if I should blame the burner or the high winds but when it’s really windy, burners shut off. I remember reading it in one of the reviews by another buyer. So, I believe it’s a persistent issue with this grill. On the other side, it’s very solidly built and will last many years. Grill size is neither huge nor small. Heats up fast (in about 3 minutes, you are ready to grill). Home Depot assembled it for free (*****). Burner knobs on the top-right in-fact is a plus for me. I have 2 years old boy. These knobs stay out of his sight else toddlers love to turn these knobs around. Overall, it’s a good buy but could’ve been great if it wasn’t windy. Go buy it, you will like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Grill! I took a lot of time to try and figure out which grill I wanted. I hemmed and hawed over cheaper models but ended up with this and have been absolutely thrilled with the decision I made. The finish on the grill is nothing short of spectacular. This was not a cheap investment but you immediately can tell that you bought a quality product. The grill heats up in no time and grills evenly for fish, meat, kabobs, and veggies. ***One note: Make sure to follow the instructions for lighting the grill. The other night I opened up all the knobs before lighting. The gas regulator went into safe mode as a result and only a small amount of gas went to the burners. As a result the grill only heated up to about 250. I was scratching my head for a while but in the end I had to turn the grill off completely and restart the grill correctly in order to get full flow to the burners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sometimes it's worth paying for the brand name, like with a grill Having owned at least four grills since college I decided to get a brand name (THE brand name) this time. Turns out I do occasionally make good choices. This grill is solid, made from heavy gauge metal and quality parts. I've had it nine months, gone through 8 to 10 tanks of propane and it looks and works like the day I put it together. It still lights on the first click of the electronic ignition. The grill lives outside in the weather, though always under the cover once it cools. I read a lot of reviews before buying the Weber and found a trend: the customers giving high ratings to the lesser expensive grills just bought them. The people with Webers talk about replacing the one they had for 12 years after they backed into it with their car or gave it to their son in college. I expect I'll have this grill longer than the car I'm driving (if I can keep from running over the former with the latter).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Grill I replaced my 19 year old Weber Spirit w/ this grill. It is a great grill with even temperatures across all the grate. I specifically purchased this from Home Depot because they have an exclusive agreement with Weber to provide cast iron grates which retain the heat and provide nice grill marks on fish, fowl, beef and pork. The grill is solidly built and was assembled in just over and hour, If you have it assembled at the store you need a van or pickup to haul it. You can use a station wagon if you take it home in the box. You will need to men to carry it since it's 143lbs in the box and very bulky.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for! I've owned several grills in the past. None have matched the quality of the Weber. None have really come close. With Weber, there is a reason for everything that is designed into it. The assembly wasn't bad at all. I built mine with what seems to be the average 90 min, maybe a little less as I had helpers. It wasn't complex and I didn't need any special tools. Most of the tools were included! I love the heavy cast iron grates. Nothing compares to seasoned cast iron when grilling. The grill heats up fast and you can maintain an even heat pretty easy. No lava rocks to make hot spots and get caked with grease. I was skeptical about the "flavor bars" but they do make for a cleaner grill and minimal flare-ups. All the grease and crud falls through to a catch pan underneath. Clean up is a snap! The key to good grilling is to season that grill! Take an hour, and spray the inside cooking area of your new grill down with PAM or whatever vegetable cook spray. Fire up the grill and let it get good and hot. You want that dark black coating on the grates! That's the seasoning and your non stick coating. SO many people don't do this and wonder why their food sticks. Or worse...end up putting aluminum foil down on their grill (ACK!!!!). Also, always clean your grates with a soft brass brush to knock the big stuff off. Nothing more, and nothing less. Don't put them in the dishwasher!!! Someone said that and I was dumbfounded. It's grilling people! Also with cast iron grates comes a responsability to keep them DRY. I coat mine with a thin spray of PAM post grilling and always cover the grill. In the winter I bring the grill in side or atleast bring the cast iron grates inside. THAT is the key to making your grill last. Protect your cast iron grates and there isn't any reason they won't last forever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for I bought this grill after using a cheap Char-Broil grill for about 8 years. It finally fell apart enough that I couldn't keep it held together. I have used Weber's charcoal grills many times, but I had not used one of their gas grills. I read a lot of reviews of various gas grills and finally settled on this one as the sweet spot between size, features, quality, and price. It was time-consuming, but simple to put together. It is very sturdy, and feels like it will last a long time, but only time will tell. The biggest improvement I see in this grill over my old one is the temperature control. This grill can get both hotter (good for steaks and burgers) and cooler (good for veggies and pizza) than the cheap ones. The temperature is much more uniform across the entire grate area, too. Speaking of grates, I love the cast iron grates that come with this grill when purchased from Home Depot. That is the single reason I purchased it here rather than from Amazon. This grill has been great for the short amount of time I have owned it. I hope it lasts many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great grill for the money The 3 burner grill heats to the ideal temperature within 7 minutes. The control knobs easily adjust to desired temperature; the grill cooks evenly and thoroughly. Set-up took 1 1/2 hours (it took awhile to remove the pieces from the box). This is a great grill for the price. The only negative is the one side for food prep as the burner knobs occupies the other. If you are considering a "budget" grill, spend a little more for a better quality. The quality was evident in the pieces when I assembled it. Nothing seemed to be cheaply produced.
