Answer:
I have 2-Genesis Silver B and 1 Silver A models. The porcelian coated steel lasts 3-5 years, the stainless bars lasts 10 years and beyond. Steel bars are about $39, Stainless bars are $69. I always upgrade to Stainless. Well work the extra cash. FYI all my Webers are over 13 years old, and my kettle grill is 32 years old and all work like new.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good replacement item instead of buying a new grill, this works very nicely for us August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Replacement Weber Flavorizer Bars This Weber grill is 10 years old and I just replaced the grill service and noticed the flavorizer bars were almost completely rusted out. Home Depot didn't have them in stock, but your associate found them for me on line and I ordered them with free delivery---they arrived in 5 days and are brtter quality than the originals...and very easy to install...the grill is up and running! July 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap stainless Why not use 316 stainless??? Amazing that they say it's stainless and then after a few years the deflectors are rusted out???? Stainless rusted out?? I didn't think stainless had iron in its metallurgical composition. ? The cheap stuff does!!!!! 80 bucks for 10 bucks worth the junk stainless..... Shame, shame, shame and a grill that cost as much as an oven that you use everyday? And then import the junk from overseas to add to the embarrassment !!! You don't get what you pay for!!!! July 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth the extra Heavy, appear very durable -- even better is the service from Weber Grill. I emailed to ask about seasoning the grates that appeared to have rusted/or have peeling enamel on the same grill. After pictures, and a bit of back and forth, they sent me new replacement grates free! July 19, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by NOT LIKE THEY USED TO BE I can see Weber has gone down hill. I purchased a set of these stainless steel flavorizer bars years ago after having the ones that came with the grill only last 1 year. The replacements I purchased were true stainless steel. The ones they sell today are a cheaper grade of stainless steel & are magnetic. I'm sure these will not last long at all. Thank You Weber. June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quick, Easy, and Fast Delivery These stainless steel flavorizer bars replaced the 10 year old bars that came with the Weber Grill. Fit perfectly and looking forward to another 10+ years of great grilling. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Refurbish Weber Grill The stainless replacement flavor bars are an exact replacement. They should make it to the end of life for my grill now 17 yrs old. Beats having to replace the bars every 5 yrs or so. August 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the new flavor bars I should have purchased this product a long time ago. I had old porcelean bars that were corroded and slowly disintegrating. Food on grill did not cook properly and usually burnt everything. These new stainless steel bars are amazing. All food on grill cooks evenly and perfect and no more burnt food! April 5, 2016
