Rated 2.6 out of 5 by 56 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great deal! Never used a weed eater.. or lawn mower before. But my back yard was a forest of thick weeds almost as tall as me.. Im 5 ft tall!! This weedeater rocked through my backyard with no problems. It was powerful, not to heavy, and super easy to use. What a deal! June 6, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by HOW TO CONVERT TO TAP AND GO-AUTO LINE FEED USELESS The automatic line feed is anything but that. I should have sensed that when I saw the line feed assist button. You have to stop the head 100% before trying to feed line, and you have to do that several times to get enough line out to go, and if all that fails, then you push the assist button and hand drag line out. That means many unnecesary delays in getting work done. WEEDEATER, post on your FAQ how to dump the auto feed head and how to convert this to the same model as a tap and go. My old Weed Eater with the tap and go was a dream to use, this is a nightmare. You see the comments posted Weed Eater, step up to the pump and fix the problem or lose me forever. I want a solution, not sympathy October 23, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by this product does not work, just ask me.......I bought 2 I bought 2 of these ,a 13 inch and 15 inch. The first one I got so frustrated with ,I thought it was mechanical error surly I was doing something wrong.I've owned several tap and go style, loved them....worked perfectly too.Well since I had used the product[attempted] several times I didn't feel right taking the product back,so I ate the cost, well not this time.this automatic feed type didn't work then or now, refuses to feed out the line.Stopping the motor is when the line is to advance itself, then cuts the line when the motor is reved up.DOES NOT HAPPEN.I have to manually pull the line.RATE 1 June 4, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This product was a waste of money This weedeater would not auto feed, it broke the string repeatedly so I put a better quality brand of string on it (same size as factory) and still had no luck. Each time it broke off I had to remove the end cap and re-thread the eye. If I was lucky, and it did not break off inside the head, I had to manually feed the string. This happened approximately 20 times in the first 30 min of use. After the last time the string broke off I permanently disabled the unit on my driveway and donated it to the local landfill. I hope this review is helpful to those who value their hard earned money. July 15, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Still Garbage in April 2013 I cut and pasted from April 2012 review, "Garbage..." because I have same, exact problems April 2013. I also specifically bought it because I had great, long service with previous Weed Eaters. The automatic feed is completely useless. I cannot use the trimmer without having to completely stop it, turn it over and waste several minutes trying to work the manual feed button. This machine has never automatically fed line even after a half-dozen or more stops and starts. The "Twist-N-Edge" feature doesn't always lock in place on the 1st or 2nd attempt. Why did they abandon the reliable bump feed design like on my old RTE115? I suppose there is one positive - it hasn't broken even though I have thrown it across the yard at least three times in disgust. Wish I had read the reviews first. April 29, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely worthless I gave the trimmer a 1-star rating. That is only because it was impossible to give it zero stars. The string head does not work at all. Most time and effort is spent in rethreading string. I've now worked about 7 hours trying to trim an area that my old trimmer trimmed in about 30 minutes. Then the head cap fell off or flew off. I can only hope that I can get some of my money back, The trimmer was inexpensive, but is worthless, so I rated the value very low. I doubt that I'll ever get a weedeater product again. June 2, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Sorry but this is a piece of junk! I have had several WeedEater trimmers over many years and always been greatly satisfied with the product and its performance. Unfortunately that is most definitely NOT the case with the WE EL-13TNE. I bought it as a replacement early in the season. I have used it to trim our yard a total of 2 and 1/2 times. It first broke today when I had trimmed roughly half of my yard. First part of the trimmer casing broke off. Next a screw fell out (which I replaced with one I had on hand). Finally it kept popping off the cover to the trimmer chamber and throwing the trim line across my yard. Needless to say I have given up using this piece of junk. I will be replacing it as soon as I can but since we are on a very tight budget that may be sometime in the future and it will NOT be this item. July 21, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great no frills weed trimmer I was looking for a no frills weed trimmer thats easy to use and with good power so I bought this one. I am pleased with its performance and it has very good power. Gets the job done easily. The construction feels a little flimsy but for the price that's not unexpected. I have had a gas trimmer previously but it was always a pain to start and to mix the gas and oil. I also prefer the manual line feed as opposed to the automatic line feed trimmers which I feel waste a lot of line. June 26, 2012
