Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Dinnie I love the weed eater company
But every piece of equiment I buy breaks and I have bought the upgrade every year. I started with a gas trimmer which broke the first season. Couldn't get it started.I assumed it was my fault. I next bought a battery trimmer and the safety guards broke. This year I bought the top of the line electric trimmer. And the safety guards broke within the first month of using it. I do not want to communicate with Weed Eater by doing a procuct review but after searching and searfing, this is the only site I could find to talk to them. I seriously love the way that weed eaters work but now I am on a fixed income and cannot afford to keep buying new products.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lauren Easy to Use and Very Powerful Weed Eater
This is the third weed eater of this same exact model that I've gone through in five years. I use it twice a month sometimes for up to 8 hours at a time because I have lots of brick paths and edging to do. The motor does not burn up and remains quite powerful but they do wear out eventually. It takes lots of use and abuse and is tough enough for creating little canals at the edge of the yard for the water to go into instead of leaking onto the brick paths and for breaking up those tough little dirt mounds that accumulate when the wind blows and grass grows through. I love my trusty little weed eater and will keep ordering this model for as long as it's made. Great quality, easy to use, and great price. I hope it's never discontinued.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by feefee Has held up well over the years
I've had this product for about 13 years and it has held up well. It is powerful enough to take care of my trimming needs. I use it frequently on a very steep hill that cannot be mowed. When I ran out of line a neighbor let me use her gas trimmer and it was not very effective on the hill as my weed eater has been.
I'm going to have to replace the shield now because it broke last year and I've had to tape part of it to keep it from falling off the unit. Only downfall for me would be this shield breaking at the tabs and the difficulty finding the right line at my local stores now. You'd think if they sold the product that they would carry the line, but not anymore.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RtK2 Weed Eater WE EL-15TNE
Bought the electric line trimmer as a replacement for my tired gas trimmer.
For the 100 or so yards of trimming required around the house, the readily available outside electric, and the unit cost v. noise, fuel mixing, habitual starting issues I couldn't justify another gas mix trimmer. Now, just how well does this electric unit stand up to the gas? The electric trims with enthusiasm. Lugging about the power cord can be a nuisance but so can the noise and smell of the gas engine.
Bearing in mind that the transition from gas to electric is quite a step this trimmer performs at or above my expectations.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by dn50 Very Disappointing
I had a weedeater trimmer for many years until it finally gave out. I loved the way it was so simple to feed the string into the spool and when using it fed out great, so I immediately went out and purchased another Weed Easter electric trimmer. No matter how I used all the tips given to get it to feed out when using it, nothing worked. I would have to stop weedeating and pull the string out by hand and many times would have to take the top off to feed the string back out. It ended up to be very time consuming and took forever to get the weedeating done, so I went out and bought another brand.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by RTN2823v Electric Weed Eater edger trimmer
Did the engineer who designed this product actually use it to see how bad it is? The line does not advance when it is turned on and off (several Times) This must be great for the life of the switch. I have to turn it over to manually advance the line. The biggfer problem is the line. It breaks every few seconds. When it breaks within the spool, then you really have a time waster because the spool must be removed to retread the line through the opening. I use Weed Eater line, not some cheap brand. Please try to improve the quality of the line so it will not break so frequently.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by dogsmomX4 This is a GREAT Weed Eater
I purchased this trimmer as a replacement to another company's trimmer that did not last an hour. As I entered the house after using the WE EL-15TNE I told my husband, "That is what I call a Weed Eater! It works beautifully."
I am not mechanically inclined and I found this Weed Eater easy to assemble and easy to operate.
I am glad that I had NOT read earlier reviews prior to purchasing this trimmer. I may not have purchased it. I AM SO GLAD THAT I PURCHASED THIS TRIMMER. It is so easy to use, even for a female in the upper 50's age bracket. I am also glad that it releases only one strand of line at a time. I never have had luck with the ones that run two lines or more at the same time. Thank you for producing this product.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ChrystalD Great until the string ran out..
This was my first string trimmer purchase. The weight was good and the power was surprising. I used it all the time until the factory installed string ran out. I cannot get replacement string installed correctly. I referred to online directions and when all efforts of independence fail...Dad...and even he could not get the new string to work properly.
