Answer:
We do not have an FTP Tripod ladder in the 16ft height. The tallest height this ladder comes in is a 12ft height. The model is the FTP6212. This does not retract for storage. This is a fixed height.

Answer:
Unfortunately you cannot stand on the top (blue part) of this ladder. Per OSHA, you cannot stand on the top of any ladder that is over 32". The standing height suggested on this ladder is the 2nd step from the top of the ladder.

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by An essential ladder for pruning small trees / large bushes safely Propping a regular ladder against a tree is always problematic, if not outright dangerous. This ladder enables me to get right into the trees so I can properly prune them, thanks to the tripod leg design. The splayed step side made the ladder extremely stable. Finally I could prune my very old Shad bushes properly. Also my pear trees. The ladder is large so it can be a little unwieldy at times because of the splayed legs, but if you take your time carrying it around there should not be a problem. And being made of fiberglass adds to the ladder's safety. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking to do this kind of work. Shipping is expensive though. October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Ladder! I'd struggled to pick fruit from high branches in my orchard for years. I finally bit the bullet and bought a tripod ladder. It's amazing---absolutely rock-solid, doesn't rock or tilt at all, and I can get much higher and more safely into the tree. If you have fruit trees bigger than dwarves, this ladder is a must for safe, thorough harvests. My only objection is that the ladder is heavy for me to move but then, I'm an out of condition 71 year old. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Werner 8ft Tripod ladder Very nice ladder. Super stable and lightweight to move around. August 9, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice ladder The ladder is fine. I was not notified at the time I ordered it that it would need to be built first. By the time the ladder came I no longer needed it. But, it is a nice ladder. May 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great step ladder. This step ladder is much safer for a 73 year old like myself. This is the best for stability and reach. March 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best most stable ladder ever. best ladder I have ever owned......................... April 20, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Well built This tripod ladder is sturdy and quite handy in tree pruning. But the delivery is not good.I have a damaged leg on the tripod ladder!! I hope it doesn't collapse because of this damage. Since it is a heavy item, I did not think of returning even though it was damaged during delivery. October 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Three leg 8 ft step ladder. I specifically wanted a tall ladder to get up high in several fruit trees, both for picking the fruit and for trimming the trees. I was surprised how sturdy and safe the ladder is. The third leg is easy to put through the branched so that I can climb up into the center of a tree. The spread of the two legs on the other side of the ladder contribute to the safety of the ladder. March 1, 2016
