Customer Questions & Answers

Can the top be used as a step or for standing?

We are looking for a ladder to access our attic storage space. Can you use/ is it rated/ made to use the top of the ladder (blue top) to stand on or as a step up?
Asked by: mcj79
I don't think that any ladders are rated for standing on the top. They all warn against it for safety reasons.

does the pole adjust to different heights for uneven surfaces

Asked by: hosemanbob
No. The third rail extends out to a fixed point and locks for safety but it is not adjustable and severely limits positioning of the ladder around trees and uneven surfaces. I recommend an aluminum ladder with adjustable legs for uneven surfaces.

Customer Reviews

12 ft. Fiberglass Tripod Step Ladder with 300 lb. Load Capacity Type IA Duty Rating is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from An essential ladder for pruning small trees / large bushes safely Propping a regular ladder against a tree is always problematic, if not outright dangerous. This ladder enables me to get right into the trees so I can properly prune them, thanks to the tripod leg design. The splayed step side made the ladder extremely stable. Finally I could prune my very old Shad bushes properly. Also my pear trees. The ladder is large so it can be a little unwieldy at times because of the splayed legs, but if you take your time carrying it around there should not be a problem. And being made of fiberglass adds to the ladder's safety. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking to do this kind of work. Shipping is expensive though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Ladder! I'd struggled to pick fruit from high branches in my orchard for years. I finally bit the bullet and bought a tripod ladder. It's amazing---absolutely rock-solid, doesn't rock or tilt at all, and I can get much higher and more safely into the tree. If you have fruit trees bigger than dwarves, this ladder is a must for safe, thorough harvests. My only objection is that the ladder is heavy for me to move but then, I'm an out of condition 71 year old.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An additional ladder This ladder seemed less expensive than a lot of other places. We have LOTS of 4 legged ladders but we bought this one for our cabin which has very uneven ground and it works great. We no longer have to put something under the two legs for leveling. But we've also used it at home in place of some of our other ladders. We are very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meets my needs It is a bit bulky (but not too heavy). I wanted a taller (12 foot),stable (and it is!) ladder to easily reach first floor gutters for cleaning and the higher branches of the cherry tree for picking and this product does the job.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice ladder The ladder is fine. I was not notified at the time I ordered it that it would need to be built first. By the time the ladder came I no longer needed it. But, it is a nice ladder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great step ladder. This step ladder is much safer for a 73 year old like myself. This is the best for stability and reach.
