Its about 6.5' collapsed down. It fits in my small hatchback running across the tops of the seats but I wouldn't want to go very far with it like that.

I despise the way a sectional ladder is spec'd. They add up the total length of each section (6' x 3 = 18') when the real "length" is the total sections less the overlap.

Answer:
When the ladder is fully extended, it has a total length of 13 feet. The reach height of this ladder is defined by the height at which the average person can reach, when standing on the highest allowable step, which is 15 feet.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Its a ladder Its a ladder. It gets me to places I can't reach otherwise. Works just fine, isn't too heavy or awkward to maneuver. The extension/collapsing can be a little weird if you're used to a regular 2-part extension ladder due to the 3 sections, but that's the tradeoff for a 16' ladder I can fit in my compact sedan. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Purchase This is a great product at a reasonable price and the three sections instead of two make it more compact and easier to fit in the truck. Also, very fast and free shipping. December 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It fit into my Prius It fit into my Prius and that is what it is all about. Any longer ladder would have required spending money on a rental truck. It is all about the storage size! Just used it outside and had no issues with it April 16, 2016
