Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BusinessOwner OMG...not once did it cross my mind that I would not be able to handle a ladder. It's a ladder, who can't handle a ladder? Me.
I own an antique mall. My building has 17 ft high ceilings. I thought it would be easier to change out lights and ballasts with a ladder instead of setting up scaffolding every time one burnt out. I never realized that the weight of the ladder would be a factor. I'm 5' 3" and weight 160 and this ladder is too much for me to handle by myself or with help. All you ladies out there with your own businesses...don't get this ladder unless you have a lot of help. My next step is to rent a 14 ft. ladder and see if I can handle it before I purchase it. This ladder is really big and honestly needs two people to maneuver and set up; but it was the perfect solution for being able to work with fruit trees. My husband can get up above the top branches when spraying them and the spray goes down on other branches also instead of back on him. Also, we can now reach the amazing fruit that always seems to be on the tip top of the tree on smaller branches.
This ladder is very sturdy. Both my husband and son felt very secure climbing very high on it.
We added hooks in the garden shed to hang it on and it's out of the way when we don't need it.
Perfect fruit tree solution!

This thing is big. It is not really suitable for one man to use, but it can be muscled around. Otherwise, it is very stable and sturdy. I have always been happy with the double sided ladders once I get past the weight. Also, be aware that the fully open footprint is quite large. The feet have a 43" width, and the locked open legs have a whopping 10' spread. So to use this ladder to get to something on a wall would require a large, clear space underneath to stand it beside the wall.

I thought $700 was a bit much, but it was the only 16 foot ladder I could find. However, I am very happy with it and would buy it again. It is heavy & bulky for one person, but it can be done. It does have a large span, as you would expect, but it is extremely stable, which I love since I hate heights. I paid to have it delivered to my home at it was well worth the money. They put it where they said they would and it was actually a couple of days early.

Well built ladder with good stability. Heavy enough that it almost takes two people to hoist it, but I was quite comfortable working at full height.
