Of course that depends on what you are used to lifting. We live in a very rural area and load and unload bales of hay, lumber and other very heavy objects from our trucks. Anyway, my wife used it yesterday to get up on the roof over our deck to patch a couple of new leaks with Henry's roof patch. She had no problems and she says loves this ladder because she says it is so stable and sturdy and she didn't have any problems carrying the gallon can up the ladder with the other tools she needed. Answer:
Um, NO!
A 16 foot ladder to reach 18-22 feet means you are standing on the top of the ladder! DO NOT DO THAT!!!

Unfortunately we do not have a podium ladder that will reach this height. In this case we would recommend a 16' twin step ladder

Answer:
It flares from just over 19 inches at the top to just over 37 inches at the bottom. Because it nearly doubles in width from top to bottom, it is very stable. It feels very secure with no wobbling on a level surface. You will be very happy with it.

16 ft. Reach Fiberglass Podium Ladder with 300 lb. Load Capacity Type IA Duty Rating (Comparable to 12 ft. Stepladder) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 275.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very stable and safe Easier to work on than my standard 12' ladder and more stable. When erected it measures 12' 6" from the floor to its top handrail. So if your ceiling is shorter than this you will not be able to set it up. The platform you stand on is 9' 7" off of the ground so since I am 6' tall that puts my head 15' 7" off of the floor. The stand is also handy as a work area or for holding tools on ceilings below 16' but above 12' 6". Also you should note that base of the ladder occupies some significant amount of space 38" x 6' 9".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Ladder Got this ladder to be able to trim tall trees in the backyard (note the Ficus in the background of the attached pic). It does that and more. No way would I have been able to put up the plywood on the windows in the pic without the podium aspect of this ladder. As for the trees, I feel much safer on this ladder with the podium and the rail. Having a fear of heights, I consider getting up high on most ladders an E-ticket ride. No so on this one. The only caveat I have is that this ladder is a bit awkward to move around owing to its weight. Bottom line is that I highly recommend this ladder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A ladder to save the day! I purchased this ladder to help clean out my gutters and to change out all the lightbulbs in the recessed lighting we recently installed. The ladder worked perfectly allowing me to access my gutters without a concern of being too high or unbalanced. It reduced the time the job took because I was able to reach farther than a traditional ladder and I had no problems balancing on the ladder while in the flowerbeds. I am looking forward to using this product when I power wash the house one of these upcoming weekends. A great price a great ladder! I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PERFECT I am 5'3" tall; not well suited for 10" ceiling height . Painting or changing light bulbs not easily accomplished. I am also closer to 70 years old then I like to admit This ladder is perfect ! wide steps--large platform--light weight. Exactly what I needed..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this ladder!! This ladder is the perfect height to access our roof (single story house). It was so much easier to carry buckets of roof sealant up onto the roof. It was almost like having stairs with a landing at the top. We felt very secure unlike with our extension ladder. Our neighbors that were helping us also were impressed with this ladder and want to get one of their own or borrow ours (that's not going to happen). Just a tip, make sure when you pick it up at the store you have a truck with a long bed. When we were loading it, other customers walking out of the store remarked at how long it is. We have shown it to and recommended it to our friends and neighbors. Well worth the investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! The 360 at platform is exactly what I needed at 17ft ceilings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Features Very impressed. I grew up with wooden ladders that were alway unstable, so really did not look forward to using them. I had the need in our new house and did some research and decided on this. From the moment I stepped on the first rung, it felt solid. Had no problems climbing up to the platform and moving around. I like the magnetic strip and tool holder on top. I really like this ladder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Ladder!!! If you're a painter and work on homes that have higher ceilings than average (9 - 10 ft tall) then you'll find that you save a ton of time with this ladder. You can do your cut-ins along ceilings much more quickly because you can stretch out further on 3 sides (directly in front of you, to your left and to your right) while standing on a platform instead of the steps on any conventional ladder. The thing I didn't realize affected me so much was the fatigue I would experience from my feet getting sore on a typical ladder. You're more comfortable using this ladder because you're standing on a flat platform with balance throughout your foot instead of the steps on a ladder that you stand on with only the middle of your foot and have to continually keep balancing yourself while you're on it. I didn't expect to like this ladder as much as I do....it's the best investment I've made in a long time!!!
