Answer:
The total length fully extended is 22 feet; therefore, in the A position it would be somewhat less than half of that height. Somewhere around ten feet? depending at which angle you use to make the A position for the ladder.

The specs on the website state 9' is the tallest in "stepladder" configuration. I've used that set up to reach the vaulted ceiling in my foyer, and felt very stable on the highest rungs.

Answer:
The top step will be 9 feet off the floor but you know you're not to stand on the top step so 8 feet is your high point.
I can reach, the top of a 7 foot door and I have changed lightbulbs 15 feet off the floor. However it is a balancing act and you might feel a bit shaky. if you clamp a 2 x 2 on the side sticking up 2 or 3 feet, you will have something stable to help your equilibrium.

Answer:
I do not know the answer to your question. If you want to climb above 22 feet - get a proper extension ladder for the height you need to reach!

I don't think that would be safe. If you want greater range, buy a larger ladder.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Ladder/terrible customer service Great ladder if you need one it's a must buy but if you order one online please do not have it sent to Home Depot on E. Market St. in York Pennsylvania but if you have to please ask for a lovely woman named Kathy anybody else you might be in trouble. July 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely Pleased with Purchase 17ft ladder. Gave four stars due to advertisement. Ladder isn't 17ft. It is 14, with a 17ft REACH. Wow, got me hook line and sinker on that one. Also first time used it fully extended. The middle has a slight bow when your at the top, sorta sketchy, but guess I trust the load rating on it, lol. Love the huge placement footings. Makes me feel more secure when in the air. Other than buying a ladder 3 ft shorter than I expected....it is extremely versatile and easy as heck to use. Light weight and folds up nicely in the garage. I have storage shelves in my ceiling and used two hooks to mount this little guy. Tucks away nicely. July 7, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good sturdy ladder This ladder easily supports my 250 lbs, is very steady, and is easily put up and taken down. I have a standard A frame ladder but it is difficult to move around and not near a versatile when moving it up and down stairs and around the house. March 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product!!! The ladder is very easy to operate. The pins pull out with little effort. I like that you can have multiple type ladders all in one, thus reducing garage space. February 10, 2016
