Why is this advertised as a new lower price for the MT-22. The price just went UP from $169 to $199

I was all set to buy the MT-22 at the $169 price point, but was surprised to see that the price has jumped to $199.
Why is the price advertised as LOWER when, in fact, it's HIGHER?
Is there a chance for another sale to bring the price back down to my range ($169)?

Thanks.

Werner has two types of MT-22 ladders...a type 1 and a type 1A ladder hence the difference in price. The Type 1A ladder is certified to safely support 300 pounds while the Type 1 is a homeowner grade ladder designed for 250 pounds. Answer:
The total length fully extended is 22 feet; therefore, in the A position it would be somewhat less than half of that height. Somewhere around ten feet? depending at which angle you use to make the A position for the ladder.

The specs on the website state 9' is the tallest in "stepladder" configuration. I've used that set up to reach the vaulted ceiling in my foyer, and felt very stable on the highest rungs.

Answer:
The top step will be 9 feet off the floor but you know you're not to stand on the top step so 8 feet is your high point.
I can reach, the top of a 7 foot door and I have changed lightbulbs 15 feet off the floor. However it is a balancing act and you might feel a bit shaky. if you clamp a 2 x 2 on the side sticking up 2 or 3 feet, you will have something stable to help your equilibrium.

I do not know the answer to your question. If you want to climb above 22 feet - get a proper extension ladder for the height you need to reach!

I don't think that would be safe. If you want greater range, buy a larger ladder.

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 1606 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wow best ladder ever! I've looked at these for years and always made an excuse to not purchase one. I spent a long time reading reviews before I made the purchase. It just takes a little practice, in the beginning it was very awkward in adjusting it but after awhile it was easy to get into position. I've only used it outdoors so far and it made working on a roof very easy. July 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Step Ladder Ever I own three of these ladders one 26' and two 22' purchased as needed. As an exterior contractor the ability to set up on uneven surfaces is important, this product fills the bill. I've owned my 26' for nine years, it's been used hard and still performs well. In my opinion these ladders are studier than the competition and at a better price. The wide footing makes them very safe as a step or extension ladder. Versatile, sturdy, safe, and a good value. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Rubbish...... understand, there is no warranty at all. I always wanted a multi-function ladder, they are incredibly useful and adaptable. But... after 4 months of owning this ladder and about 5 uses the retention spring on one hinge lock broke and the knob on the other hinge lock cracked and is ready to break into pieces. This ladder has had no rough handling or rough use. HD has told me "sorry it's over the 90 day return period so you can't exchange it" and Werner tells me I have to buy replacement parts. I now have a $150 ladder that's almost useless after 4 months and 5 uses. Next time I'll just buy a regular ladder. July 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heavy but Solid I had another aluminum multi-position ladder for years but a part finally broke and there were no parts available. After looking at everything available, and talking to friends who had them, I settled on this one. It's kind of heavy to be carrying around much, but is rock solid when in use. I'm 6'3" and around 250#. I set it up to reach some lights that are 10' up and was very happy that it felt so solid. I'd buy it again! July 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product Very versatile ladder. Love this product. I would recommend it to anyone. August 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent ladder This is very sturdy but heavy. I haven't fully used all the different configurations but so good so far. I'm giving it four stars because I haven't had it long. July 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent ladder! Other reviews said the ladder was heavy, which it is, but it is very well made. Was looking for a ladder that is easy to store, yet reaches the tallest peaks of my home. This ladder does that and more. So glad I purchased this ladder and not a regular extension ladder. This product folds up and stores upright in my garage and takes up less room than my 6 foot step ladder. I am a 270 lb. man who hates heights, but yet feels very secure using this ladder. Best ladder I have ever bought! July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good I have a little gaint ladder, it broke (right in the middle) even though it's warrented, I have to pay for shipping it back to them, so I don't have time for that, I live an hour away from closest UPS store. I got this ladder cause I had to get on my roof to replace shingles, I was able to set it up and get on roof better than my expensive Little Giant! And weighs less so I was able to do it myself without my husbands help!! July 19, 2016
