Weather resistant?

In response to the last question about whether this ladder is weather resistant, I'm confused. Under the specifications of every Werner ladder on the Home Depot's website there is a category called "Weather Resistant." For the equalizer extension ladder, it says "No." For the non-equalizer aluminum ladders, it says "Yes." What is the designation for "Weather Resistant" or is this just a flaw in the website? I purchased a regular Werner extension ladder instead of the equalizer because I need to store it outside (sheltered however), but would have preferred the feature of having the equalizer feature. Now I'm curious. Thanks!

Answer:
Components of the ladder, such as lock and shoe hardware may rust if left outdoors. These components are made of steel instead of aluminum like the side rails. The aluminum ladder rails will not rust if left exposed to the elements. Both ladders are not weather resistant.

Not weather resistant?

What makes this ladder not qualify as weather resistant? Is it the bolts that attach to the equalizer or more? I'd prefer to store this outdoors under a porch where it could possibly get subjected to the elements.

Answer:
It's aluminum construciton with the exception of a few parts such as the pins on the extenders which may or may not be aluminum. A few fo the grommets also look brass.
But I think it should hold up well if exposed to the rain.

Answer:
None of our ladders are weather resistant. The ladder can with hold certain amounts of weathering but can show signs of weathering after being exposed to rain, sun, moisture, etc over time.

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Ladder - leveling system is so helpful I have a 60% grade around my house and needed a ladder that would offer leveling on uneven ground and hold my weight of 240. It is light enough to move around and an all around great ladder for multi-purpose use. Definitely recommend. June 14, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ladder was NOT exactly what I needed but served it's purpose. I selected this ladder specifically for the LEG EXTENDERS that would allow me to work on Stairs. Unfortunately, on both sets of my stairs, the extenders were either TOO short, or the ladder was too wide to take advantage of the extenders properly. The ladder is very sturdy, and I worked safety at a height of 20 feet while on a flat surface. I think the extenders will add value ONLY on an 'uneven' surface, but dont count on them working on stairs. September 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Ladder. However lack of planning on my part.... the ladder trim, finish, construction - all very solid. good product. however i will say i purchased this ladder with the adjustable feet in order to work laterally on a staircase for a little bit of trim work. unfortunately, the ladder width spans a sum total of 3 steps, and the leg adjustments do not compensate enough for the difference in height. so i still had to use a concrete block on the lower step to level the ladder and get to one part of the stairwell - which was outside of my safety comfort zone. but whatever. measure twice, purchase once. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by One hand? Bought this last fall to replace a lighter weight 24' aluminum and used it for the first time only today to work on gutters after Bill's deluge. I have a sloping lot so the leveling legs were desirable. But they are heavy, and together with the higher rating, makes the ladder a lot heavier than my old one. And I found the wider rungs kept my stabilizer, which is old but better than any Werner currently offers, from not sitting down as far as the old, but my particular complaint is that the leveling system either takes two people, a lot of muscle and dexterity, or a number of trials taking the ladder up and down to get right. The step-ratchet system seems to me a lot more desirable from that point of view. Otherwise the ladder seems to be very high quality and the adaptable feet a plus. June 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice ladder Sturdy, well built ladder. I needed this for painting inside the house to reach the upper walls in a room with a cathedral ceiling. I chose the adjustable side legs in anticipation of painting the house trim outside. This is a nice feature for uneven ground. July 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice ladder This is a replacement ladder. I chose this particular ladder because of the adjustable legs for uneven surfaces. In the past I always had to use shims to level the ladder. It can be raised and lowered with one hand unlike the older now retired ladder. Would highly recommend this ladder to professional and home owners as well. January 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I needed a good safe extension ladder! The ladder is good and sturdy and safe due to the sound construction and ability to level the ladder on sloping ground. The level in the bottom step is a real plus. The ladder is sturdy but still light enough for one person to handle. I'm well pleased with my 24' extension ladder. January 6, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best ladder ever, wish I'd bought years ago! Tired of the precarious leaning that always occurred when I'd hang Christmas lights or something, I decided to spring for this bad boy and very glad I did! Their solution for micro-adjusting is really quite ingenious, works very well, perfect every time. Love the level on the bottom rung. Heavier than the cheap-o I had before and a little cumbersome for my small size but absolutely, positively worth the trade-off without question. The catches for the height are extremely well designed. The rope and pulley for raising it is a worthy option, but I use so rarely I removed the rope because it was just in my way. Bottom line - don't skimp and buy the el-cheapo, spend the extra dough and get what should be a lifetime ladder, you'll be glad you did! June 9, 2015
