I needed a multipurpose ladder that would reach 12 feet when used as a step. This one fit the bill perfect.
With the wider base it is very stable. It is a great value.

Purchased this ladder instead of a rigid 12 foot traditional ladder. It was one of the best investments I've made as a homeowner. It stores easily on a hook in my garage, is easy to carry, extends to 9+ feet as a stepladder, gives me full reach to the second story when fully extended, and is easily converted to support a scaffold. The exceptional benefit is that it can be used on stairs and uneven surfaces indoors and out. Even unfolded and to its maximal height, it is very stable and I feel safe even 18 feet off the ground and above the main hinge. It does become a 2-person job when the ladder is extended to the maximum height, but I've maneuvered it without a problem by myself. Absolutely purchase this ladder if you're contemplating getting a tall one. This is a must-have for any homeowner.

MT-26. Very convenient for homeowners, one ladder for many purposes. Long enough to allow me onto the roof of a 2 story house. Surprisingly easy to adjust. Good load rating (300lbs).
Heavy, and hence very difficult to raise.
Be careful with the specification of length, about 22 feet is realistic. 26 foot length and 25 foot reach are both almost meaningless.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by PeterH845 I'd be lost without this
Part of my job involves interior painting. If it is a raised ranch or 2 story condo, I can get away with the shorter version... if it is a 2 story colonial with 10' or more ceilings on the ground floor, only this will do. I had a commercial job where the lobby stairs reached about 24'. Some was done with this ladder in step ladder configuration and some in extension ladder configuration. There is no way these people would have let me bring in a 24-28' extension ladder. Even a 12' step ladder, which would have been of very limited usefulness, so the compact folded up size is a plus too.

I had read the reviews and thought I might not like this ladder. I was very surprised, It is much better than I thought it would be. One of the biggest complaints I read was its weight, and yes it is heavy, but that is where its strength comes from.
I debated between the 22 ft and the 26 ft, and bought the 26 ft. It turns out that the 22 ft would have done the job just fine, but I am not sorry that I got the 26 ft.
As for the weight, I am 72 years old and not very physical and I can handle. I can carry it down the hill to my shop and up the hill to my house, and the hill is quit steep.
My first use was to change a light bulb on an eve 18 feet up. Like all ladders of any length, it was a little bouncy going up, but I have been on much worse than this one. When I got up to the top I felt very secure, ant that was what I was waiting for.
Another complaint that I read was that the manual was not very good. I don't see how anyone could say that. I can't see what more I would want to know that what is in the manual. The ladder is so easy to use and configure that I could have done everything except putting together the outer sections when using it as a scaffold. The book is clear on that, and just looking at the picture would have been good enough.
Because I bought the 26 ft ladder I know that I also want to buy the 13 ft for smaller jobs.
