Answer:
The cold won't damage it, but you should cover it with a tarp. Snow and ice will make it hazardous to use. Keep it dry.

These ladders will be subject to fading of the fiberglass surfaces over time, and it may eventually cause break down to the point of failure, but I've had some of my ladders on top of my truck for many years, with never a failure.

Answer:
Ladders that are left outside and exposed to the elements would have a greater need to replace parts on the ladders. Some component parts and hardware may rust and need to be replaced. Also, the sun's UV Rays will effect the fiberglass rails. It would be best to store the ladder indoors, if possible.

The new style ladders are molded to receive a flush bucket attachment. I have never seen anything that adapted to the old ladders. I did buy the attachment with the new ladder and it works awesome.

Answer:
I believe the older tool shelf has been re-designed, but is still in the same place--at the very top. The design is such that it can hold tools like screwdrivers, a hammer and other similar size & shaped tools. It was also designed with attachments that can be bought and used with it. The attachments "lock in" for example there are paint cups and buckets, clips, hooks, etc.

Answer:
The fiberglass step ladders are not manufactured with an attached pail shelf becuase the ladders have the Lock In Accessory Tool Top. This top will hold tools and small parts, as well it is compatible with the any of the Lock In Accessories such as the Job Bucket or the Paint Cup. A pail shelf is available as an add on accessory for this ladder, this is kit number PK76-3.

I didn't see an area designed specifically for a roller tray. The top step has various designs for tools, nails etc.

Answer:
If you get the bucket attachment, it does sit flush with the top (extending the top surface horizontally) you may be able to situate the roller tray right on top and secure with a clamp somehow. Try it in the store before you buy.

Answer:
You can either buy the traditional type that is held on with 2 legs that lock onto one of the ladder's steps. Or, you can buy a special Paint Pail or Paint Cup that can slip into a ready-made insert on the custom tool caddy top.

Answer:
The NXT1A series of ladders has multiple options for using a rolling pan. The plastic top piece on the ladder has two horizontal slots that allow a rolling pan to be attached to the top of the ladder. A paint shelf is also available as an accessory that will hold a rolling pan.
