Your question is discussed on Yahoo's web site, and it is pointed out that Fiberglass ladders have a reduced risk of electric shock from live wires, but Aluminum is lighter and also does not have a tendency to crack like
fiberglass; so it's basically your choice. Both are strong materials and will normally hold up over long time periods. You may also wish to "google" your question and see what you come

Answer:
This would depend on the personal preference, and the scenario in which the ladder is being used. The aluminum ladder is more lightweight, however fiberglass is safer when working around electricity, The material strength of the ladders are identical.

Answer:
Depends on your use - Aluminum is lighter but not as sturdy or durable, and definitly not suitable when working around electricity.
Fiberglass ladders come with much higher weight ratings and are far more durable. If you want a light ladder to move from room to room, get aluminum.
If you want a durable ladder that you work outside on, or carry heavy loads on (like roofing) then get fiberglass. I Read More

I need to easily reach 11' in order to clean my gutters. I am 6' tall and am wondering what my line of sight would be when I stand on the 3rd or 4th rungs of the 8' ladder.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 8 ft. Aluminum Step Ladder, why not make a 7 ft. I just don't get the idea of making step ladders in two foot increments, we don't need an expensive telescoping ladder for working inside the home, but to access an attic space a 6 foot is too short and an 8 foot is too long. If there was an option to buy a 7 foot aluminum ladder I would have done so. August 2, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product I'm very pleased with how this ladder functions. It is very sturdy and not too heavy and it has a handy pail shelf for holding your tools or material close to where you are working. The pail shelf was one of my requirements for the ladder, and the ladder holds up well inside and outside and it doesn't take up much space in my garage as I store it hanging up from the ceiling on a hook.
