According to the Home Depot website, it weighs approx. 58 lbs. I think that is about right, maybe about 5 pounds less than actual weight for a possible total of 65 lbs. I can pick it up by myself (I am 67 yrs old) as long as I hold it in the center to balance it. My wife also can pick it up and she is 65 years old. I can pick it up by myself (I am 67 yrs old) as long as I hold it in the center to balance it. My wife also can pick it up and she is 65 years old. Of course that depends on what you are used to lifting. We live in a very rural area and load and unload bales of hay, lumber and other very heavy objects from our trucks. Anyway, my wife used it yesterday to get up on the roof over our deck to patch a couple of new leaks with Henry's roof patch. She had no problems and she says loves this ladder because she says it is so stable and sturdy and she didn't have any problems carrying the gallon can up the ladder with the other tools she needed. You won't regret this investment. Read Less

Answer:
Um, NO!
A 16 foot ladder to reach 18-22 feet means you are standing on the top of the ladder! DO NOT DO THAT!!!

Answer:
Unfortunately we do not have a podium ladder that will reach this height. In this case we would recommend a 16' twin step ladder

Answer:
It flares from just over 19 inches at the top to just over 37 inches at the bottom. Because it nearly doubles in width from top to bottom, it is very stable. It feels very secure with no wobbling on a level surface. You will be very happy with it.

I have 15 foot walls that I need to paint... should I pick the 14 ft or the 16 foot ladder? I am 5'8"... and I don't want to be hunched over trying to stand on the platform, or a foot too short!

Answer:
This ladder would be best for this application. This has a platform height of 8ft, standing at this height you have no trouble reaching the 15ft.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 230 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product by Werner Bought the 10ft, 6ft and 5ft Werner podium ladders for my garage door business. After 5 months of regular use, I have never been more impressed or more importantly, safer! With this business you are constantly on ladders, to me this is the most dangerous part. The podium ladders, gives you a solid platform to work on and more reach to get the job done. Also the platform on the smaller ladders can act as a work bench, which is handy to have. I plan on getting the 12 ft. as well. Great ladders! December 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Werner 9 ft reach podium ladder w 300 lb capacity Solid product. Safe stable platform for dealing with home chores when you get older and are less steady on your feet. June 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stable work platform, versatile ladder Excellent step ladder with platform third step for applications where you will be in one spot and want a stable work platform. Almost like having a mini scaffold about 35 inches off the ground. Easily paint a 9 foot ceiling using this ladder, or install drapes, etc. Top of ladder offers tool storage as well as a curved recess for leaning against the ladder, making you feel very secure. Very well constructed, heavy duty, and very stable ladder. Top of ladder is about 6 feet from the ground. There are no steps higher than the platform, limiting the work height to the equivalent of a conventional five foot step ladder. September 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Feel safer using this ladder compared to old one. I have to carry my ladder around a lot for various jobs, but I usually don't need a very tall ladder. I do however need the flexibility to move around, while feeling safe about what I'm balancing on. This ladder is perfect for my needs because the large platform makes me feel much more secure while reaching around up high. It is also lighter weight than my previous ladder which had more steps that I didn't need. When I'm done, I can simply fold it up and store it away. March 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this Ladder Got this ladder to be able to trim tall trees in the backyard (note the Ficus in the background of the attached pic). It does that and more. No way would I have been able to put up the plywood on the windows in the pic without the podium aspect of this ladder. As for the trees, I feel much safer on this ladder with the podium and the rail. Having a fear of heights, I consider getting up high on most ladders an E-ticket ride. No so on this one. The only caveat I have is that this ladder is a bit awkward to move around owing to its weight. Bottom line is that I highly recommend this ladder. October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great ladder We've got 12' ceiling throughout the house- and of course - all with recessed can lighting. There is also shelving at 10' that needs to be vacuumed. This ladder fits the bill perfectly. I was skeptical that the ladder would be too much to handle and hard to store. It stores standing up against the wall in the garage - no problem. The ladder is very sturdy and the work platform is solid and safe. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very stable and safe Easier to work on than my standard 12' ladder and more stable. When erected it measures 12' 6" from the floor to its top handrail. So if your ceiling is shorter than this you will not be able to set it up. The platform you stand on is 9' 7" off of the ground so since I am 6' tall that puts my head 15' 7" off of the floor. The stand is also handy as a work area or for holding tools on ceilings below 16' but above 12' 6". Also you should note that base of the ladder occupies some significant amount of space 38" x 6' 9".
