Good value. All you need in a sturdy storage container. Used for about 4-5 hours. Harness is comfortable and gives you extra security on the roof. Who is going to pay your bills if you have an accident? in my opinion investing in safety is the best investment you can make. Gives extra security when bending down/ using tools on the roof. Used for painting and for installation of roof vents. As others have said, if you step on the rope you will slip. You need to be comfortable enough on the roof to get up to secure the harness and down with the harness unsecured. Allows you to work near the edge of the roof with power tools/ awkward angles.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Paul Don't fall off your roof!
Falling off a roof, or high scaffold, can cripple you or worse. Medical bills, lost income, pain.
A fall protection system is designed to limit your drop to a few feet, so you are bruised not shattered.
This bucket of straps is complete for most purposes. Everything snaps straps and latches easily, and looks strong and safe. Initial harness adjustment is tedious, and must be done right. Once adjusted to you it should only need minor trim for seasonal clothing.
There are a LOT of instructions. You are taking your personal safety to a new level. Study well and stay safe. If you can find training, sign-up.
Note that this is fall protection. It supports you face-down like a parachute. There are also work support systems which support you in a working position. You may need both types for extreme jobs.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Poczf1977 Worked Great For Snow Removal
I use this system to clean snow off of my roof. It worked great and is very nice quality. The system is rated for 310 which is not very well labeled on the container. I am 6’3 290#lbs and fit me very comfortably, it will adjust down to the average size person. I have experience at work using fall protection but I think it is a very intuitive system for the home owner. I used it as a restraining device and choked around my chimney with a sling.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by VermontDan A must have for working above the ground
I should have purchased this years ago. I don't mind working on a roof, but never feel quite safe doing so. I had a situation where the pitch was just too steep and finally bought this. It was a little more expensive than I would have hoped but how do you put a price on safety. I did take me a few minutes to figure out the latch, but once deciphered it is easy. The rope is quite long, but I wish it had been a little longer. I still have to be careful on the roof, but I do have a better piece of mind and know that I have a mechanism that will make it much safer.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dingbarrs Good product, easy to use
This harness was a good quality and very easy to use. Everything you need is included in the kit. I priced what it would be to buy each item separately and this is an excellent price for all that you get. Would have been double or more to buy separately. I bought it for my son in law to use while putting a new roof on my house. He felt very secure up on my very high roof.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jimmy Roof safety equipment.
Used the equipment for 4 days and feel safer. Fortunately, I didn't fall to test it and hopefully will avoid a fall in the future. I do believe it will prevent a full fall if it should happen and is definitely cheaper than any medical bills if a full fall should occur. I installed permenant anchors on the roof and will use the equipment every time I have to work on the roof.

One should never scrimp on quality or equipment when it comes to safety.
This all-in-one roof safety system includes all the items you will need to safely install a new roofing system.
I used this to white coat my existing roof. Rather than use the provided anchor, I was able to tie-off on an existing stack. This kept me from having to drill into the roof. However, if this was not available, you can fill the holes the screws make with an approved roofing patch or filler.
After the job was done, everything fits neatly back into the original container for storage.
Thumbs-up to Werner to put everything in one container!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ToddB This is a fall arrest system, not fall prevention
Before you get mad at me for listing "not reusable after a fall" I just wanted to point that out because not everybody knows the difference between a fall prevention system and one for stopping a fall in progress.
I'm TERRIBLE at heights, but I own a 290 year old home. I have lots of repairs that I've taken on and I've been slowly trying to overcome my fear of heights. I simply can't afford to pay someone to do what I can do myself when I'm able to get to the area. I use ladders, pipe staging, home made platforms and when lucky enough, pump staging. There are pros and cons to each but the one constant is that a potential fall is ALWAYS a split second away.
You'd laugh if you saw my previous setup. Every time I looked into buying a restraint of some sort I got confused and just closed my browser. I considered tree climbing harnesses, rock climbing, etc.
For me personally, I'd much prefer a fall prevention because when I'm physically tied onto a wall or roof and can lean back against the rope without fear of falling I work faster and I'm not stressed. Not every situation allows for that type of setup, however, like when on pump staging to mount gutter, for instance. In a situation like that you really need the safety of a fall arrest. You hope you don't fall. You certainly do everything you can to avoid a fall, but if you do fall, you want something to stop it. That's where this system comes in.
To be clear, the harness and lanyard are both designed to absorb the energy of your fall. They do that through folded sections of material (or extra length of lanyard) stitched in a way that will yield under pressure, coming unstitched. Once that happens they are both of no further use to you. The fact that this has happened is easily determined by a quick visual inspection of the stitched "fuses".
I never review products that I haven't used. This is a difficult product to TRULY review without having fallen with it, right? I think that the ultimate review MUST include a personal experience attesting to its effectiveness in a fall. Unfortunately I haven't been able to use it yet and FORTUNATELY I haven't fallen with it yet. Therefore, I don't think actually using the product without falling will impact my review much. I did, however, wear the harness to check for fit, comfort and quality of build. I did have to reverse a strap on it that was twisted during factory assembly, but it wasn't too difficult to do.
The harness is quite well built. The rope is very thick. The lanyard is also very strong looking. I plan to do more painting this year on the pump staging and I will absolutely wear this setup, anchored to the staging .
As a final note, the instructions that came with this are excellent, providing great safety information not limited to specific usage of the harness. It does, however, have excellent information on how to wear the harness and ensure that key points are in the right spots on your body.
For the price, this is a great way to get a matched set of rope, lanyard and harness as a life saver for an unexpected fall.
