Hi-Rise Breadmaker-DISCONTINUED is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm sorry I waited so long to replace my old breadmaker. I am extremely pleased with the Hi-Rise bread maker. Friends dropped in just as I was taking my first loaf of rye out of the pan. It was perfect! I got one piece and they took the rest home. I highly recommend getting the dual bread pan. The one that comes with the machine is a little large for one person. The machine smoked badly during the first bake cycle but hasn't since. I've made my signature pizza dough, rye, sourdough and basic white breads all with great results, BWY

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just a Breadmaker, it's an educator- trust me! Yes, I know it's just a machine, but this one has two paddles and that means better kneading. However, the real plus, A+, is the book that comes with it. It tells how to adjust your recipe to compensate for just about every dumb thing you could do. Best selection of recipes, to boot. It also educates you about flour, glutin, altitude, and how each ingredient interacts with the others. It's a winner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Breadmaker My wife wanted this particular breadmaker for a Christmas present. Home Depot's price was less than the competitors and shipped for free. The shipping was fast too. About a week after Christmas she decided to make her first loaf of bread and opened the box. There was only one "knead paddle" in the sealed bag of parts and the device needed two paddles. We did just what the instructions said and called West Bend instead of bringing it in to the store (which was not in stock anyway). West Bend came through and send TWO packaged paddles by 2nd day FedEx. We were real happy about that. She's now made her first loaf of bread. It was easy and came out great. Just do as recommended and use one of the simple recipes in the included booklet. Follow the directions exactly and let the bread maker do everything. Don't second guess it. It's better than the store bread and takes a total of 3 hours to make 2 pound loaf from start to finish (sandwich).
