Answer: 
To set the timer on at 6 p.m. and off at 6 a.m. all the pins between those times should be pushed down. All other pins should be pulled up. Set the arrow at the correct time and switch to on.

Answer: 
To set the timer, the pins should be pushed "Down" for all timers you want On and pulled "UP" for off times. So for this set up, all pins from 6pm - 6am would be down, and all other pins up. Make sure the arrow in the center is set to the correct time (by rotating the dial clock wise). Finally make sure he switch at the top is in the "Timer On" position.
