Answer:
Unfortunately, it can't be turned on and off like a regular light. The switch to the light has to always be engaged “on” for the motion to work, and can't be overridden.

Answer:
No. You can install it in a switched receptacle so if you are going to be in the area and don't want the light to come on but you need motion for the light to come on.

How much power does it use for the motion detection?

I want to use it to turn off a walk-in closet light (LED), after a couple minutes without motion, if the family member forgets to turn it off via the wall switch. So to see how (energy) cost effective this might be, I need to know how much power it uses while just powered up and checking for motion.

Answer:
It is designed to work in a porch area, but is normally installed in a wall mounted fixture. The motion sensor is designed to look out onto the horizon, not downward. There is some flexibility in the positioning of the sensor, but that may or may not be enough. It depends on the specifics of where you want it to sense motion and the location of the fixture. Answer:
Yes, these are designed to work with flood lights. Each one would be independent of the other, so if one comes on due to motion detected the other will not, unless it also detects motion.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Had to Return My fixture is positioned with the screw in part straight down. That needs to angle out so the sensor is in a proper position. I didn't notice that when I ordered it, so had to return July 19, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product. Great product. Works exactly as it claims. I use an LED bulb with it and it gives a nice bright light. Good price. Good value. June 28, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it! Works great. Easy to install. Always looking for home improvement & security items. This was an inexpensive security item. March 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product I bought this for my daughter who just moved out and needed a motion sensor light as her doorway is very dark and she didn't want to leave the outside light on all the time. She is renting her home and so we needed something we didn't have to attach to a wall and do any wiring for. So this has worked out great for her. January 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Exactly as Promised We used this to replace a pull chain fixture in our pantry and the previous remote controlled fixture. The remote was difficult to use to turn the light off and finally quit altogether. We tried another motion control that you had to do a dance or wave a broom in front of in order to turn it on. It only stayed on for ten minutes and then you had to do it all again. This one can stay on up to 20 minutes and turns on flawlessly. June 16, 2015
