Product Overview

This simple Westinghouse 1-light interior wall fixture was designed for function and practicality. It features a convenient ground outlet and pull chain when most others do not. The fixture also boasts a compact, low-profile design--it will fit easily in even your smallest rooms. The chrome finish base has a versatile aesthetic, and the white and crystal glass filters even light. The fixture's extra outlet is of great utility whether you are using a wet/dry vac in the garage or a hair dryer in the bathroom. The fixture is 4-1/2 in. x 5-1/4 in. (H x W) and extends 6-1/2 in. from the wall. It uses 1 medium-base light bulb, 60-Watt maximum (not included). This Westinghouse interior wall fixture is UL listed for safety. It is backed by a 5-year manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Customer Questions & Answers

Can this light be installed to work with a wall switch?

I see it has the pull chain, but could you also install it in a bathroom that currently has light fixture similar to this, with an electrical outlet on it? I would like to be able to use the current wall switch with it. Thanks.
Asked by: Mack
I suppose it could be installed that way, but having two switches may be a nuisance as the one on the fixture may be off when the wall switch is turned on. You could also rewire the fixture and eliminate the pull switch.

will the mounting bracket fit on a "single-gang" electrical box, cut in or other?

will the mounting bracket fit on a "single-gang" electrical box, cut in or other?
Asked by: Rick
There are several slots and holes in the mounting base at various diameters. While I didn't use a single gang box to mount this I'm pretty sure that you won't have a problem doing so. Worst case scenario would be having to drill one hole for a second screw after using an existing hole for the first screw. The yellow wire nuts supplied with this fixture are smaller than a standard (orange), wire nut, so you should have red wire nuts on hand to connect wires.

Can I switch on this fixture pulling the chain when lying in bed?
Asked by: Malvina
If the fixture is within reach I don't see why not. If it's overhead then add a longer chain or string.

Can I buy parts for this light fixture, Hampton Bay Model# 6640200?

I bought this light 19 years ago and the pull string sockets broke. Can I purchase replacement pull string sockets or get wiring diagram for pull string switch used in todays model?
Asked by: John
The pull string switch that operates the light is available AT Home Depot and elsewhere. If you're referring to the power socket in this fixture, it's not turned off by the pull string.

1-Light Chrome Interior Wall Fixture is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Fixture Very nice light for the price. Seems well made. I was replacing a light fixture that had been in my bathroom for 37 years. I figured I would run into some kind of problem, but the mounting bracket fit perfectly, and I simply had to connect the 3 wires and was good to go. The outlet included is a little hard to plug into, but not a major problem. Only reason I did not rate it 5 stars is because I haven't had it long enough to judge its overall quality.

The wire nuts that come with this fixture are too small for the wires. I had to substitute red wire nuts which are two sizes up from the orange ones included with this fixture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit for our older house It was really hard to find a replacement light for our 1950's rental property renovation. This light fit the need completely, was easy to install and appears to be durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light idea, for older homes I have to admit, having an older home has it's disadvantages, However, I found these lights and put two of them in the bathroom on each side of the medicine cabinet. No need for more outlets, this is perfect for the hair dryer, curling iron....help's you tremendously when you need extra outlet's for while in that bathroom. Lovely idea!
