Could you run a full-sized refrigerator on this?

Asked by: dj
Yes. Currently my Mother in Law is without power here in Myrtle Beach after Hurricane Matthew. This unit is powering her refrigerator, tv, cable box, small fan and a couple of lights. It ramps up when the compressor kicks in on the fridge but then settles back down to just above idle.

Does the parallel cord come with each generator?

Asked by: Cmb
I recommend using the Westinghouse Inverter cable. The best part is you can parallel this one with any of the new inverters for more power. Plenty of power, nice and quiet.

2200-Watt Gasoline Powered Digital Inverter Generator with Parallel Capabilities is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 164.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the generator dislike the longevity Bought this generator New from HD put it into service mid August 2016 Use the generator 1-4 hours a day with the average being 2 hours. All super light loads- battery charging, run a computer etc in our off grid cabin. We changed the oil 4 times during this time frame to be safe per the owner's manual At 6 months almost to the day it seized The warranty tech told me he was told they are only good for around 500 hours we were at best guess at around 300-450 hours Company is replacing it but at our current usage level will it also die in 6 months????? Love the generator and would highly recommend it for a less hour intensive use

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing generator! I don't usually write reviews on products but this is one amazing little quite generator. I bought this to run the air conditioner on my boat. Before I get all the warnings about carbon monoxide poisoning , it sits over the rail on my swim platform separated from the cockpit by a 3 foot wall. Anyway I can run my 6000 btu window unit air conditioner, my 15 amp battery charger charging 2 banks, and my 1.4 cu ft dorm style refrigerator ALL AT THE SAME TIME and on eco mode to boot. The throttle rises up and down when the compressors or the charger kicks in but idles most of the time. Running either appliance separately won't even bring up the idle including the ac. It is also so quiet that sitting in the cockpit you can use a regular voice and that is only 4 ft away. I actually feel the vibration more than I hear the noise. Inside the cabin, the ac is louder than the generator. This generator has more than exceed my expectations. I would recommend it if you are looking for a small compact quiet powerful generator.

I have a 33 ft. 5th wheel with 13.5 BTU AC. It runs my RV fine ( with low demand, Fridge and hot water on propane , just strains when compressor kicks in. I plugged it right into my 50 amp cable.) works like a charm. After starting the AC drops down to about 10 amps. This has 18 amps to draw.

I needed a generator that would have enough amps to start my rotary hammer drill that uses 10.5 amps. The problem was, I got several different answers about how many starting amps this hammer drill used. But when I got the generator, the 2200 watts it puts out was easily enough to start it. I use the hammer drill to drill pilot holes for Rigid PVC fence posts for electric fencing. At only 43 lb. this generator is light enough for me to carry out in the field over rough terrain along the fence line. I especially like the efficiency mode which sets the engine speed according to the load because this really saves gas. I've had it about a month now, and it's easy to start, has plenty of power, and is easy to carry. I made a good choice in a generator.

Rechecked oil which was fine - and there was no load since nothing was plugged in purchased two units - one seems to work - the other not at all. the plan is to have two with the parallel cable - but never had the chance to plug anything in. Hopefully after spending $160 for two each of the 3 year extended warranties, Home Depot will overnight a replacement to the local store and we can have a chance at leaving town in three days with friends. very irritated.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good Purchased 2 to operate in parallel. Started 4HP air compressor wit both operating and the units adjusted to the load. Allowed compressor to cycle several times and observed operation. Again, the units appeared to adjust to the varying load. Have yet to use for the originally purchased purpose which is to operate AC unit in camper. Both units started on the first couple of pulls. Units are definitely quiet when operating as compared to a larger single unit. Had a difficult time starting one unit on the second day of ownership but may have been over choked. Adjusted choke a couple of times and unit started after 10 pulls. Have not had opportunity to put into actual use so review is reserved but pleased so far.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't start Read the manual front to back so that there wouldn't be any surprises. Put oil and gas in the generator, turned everything on, and proceeded to try to start it. A couple of rumbles from the engine, and then nothing! I pulled at least 40 times with no firing at all. The gas was fresh and had no ethanol in it. Pulled the spark plug to find the gap way off! Supposed to be 34 and was only 19. Reset and reinstalled plug, still no start! Installed new plug of another brand, still no start! Obviously poor quality control and some design deficiency!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Quiet I researched generators for about a year and the Westinghouse 2000IXLT is competitive with the top brands for about 2/3 the price. I would have preferred a USA made generator but these are better quality, sorry. This inverter is quiet, lightweight and sips the fuel. it wont power my 13,500 BTU RV AC unless I parallel two of them. Its easier to load a 50 pound generator twice than to load a 120 pound generator once. Im happy with this westinghouse and also have a 9k westinghouse in case things gets serious.
