Answer:
Yes. Currently my Mother in Law is without power here in Myrtle Beach after Hurricane Matthew. This unit is powering her refrigerator, tv, cable box, small fan and a couple of lights. It ramps up when the compressor kicks in on the fridge but then settles back down to just above idle.

Have done it a few times already with this unit. Not an issue. Just be careful of any additional load you put on the generator with the fridge. Get advice from a Professional on the Max loading on the unit. Like this unit better than my Honda Inverter generator. Westinghouse is quieter than the Honda or Yamaha. This unit Rocks and will take a price hike in the near future

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 107 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kenneth Davis Excellent value, outperforms more expensive models from other manufacturers. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good purchase I've only used it once so far to power a saw. Worked well. No problems... September 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 2200-watt inverters I purchased these as emergency power. I have not needed them yet. They arrived in perfect condition and they both started with just a few pulls!! Very quiet and when tested on some power tools they worked great. September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great generator This generator is very quiet. It starts on the first or second pull each time. Plenty enough power to run my power tools and lights. Very pleased with this item. The fuel economy switch is a plus. September 20, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by New one hard to start My first 2200 Westinghouse inverter generator works perfectly. I bought a second one so I could hook them in parallel and run my RV AC. Once running, they do that well. However, the new generator is much harder to start. Takes as many as 8 or 10 pulls and it has to sit at a slight angle or it will not start. I know about the low oil sensor and made certain it was topped up with the proper oil. I suspect that the sensor is not working correctly and the slight tilt is necessary to "fool" it. Otherwise I love these generators. They are quiet and seem to be efficient on fuel. And, the price is right. August 8, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Satisfied customer Good product, easy to start and quiet running. Only reason for 4 stars is that I do not have long term results as of yet with this generator. I would like to see Home Depot and Westinghouse offer a higher rated 2400 watt (20 amp) unit. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice generator! Received my generator yesterday, nice and quiet with a small load. I am pushing 1000 watt Par64 light with it for fishing. a little loud but way more quieter then my 5500/6500 generator. I will test it this weekend on the Bay for some night fishing. One thing though, the muffler plastic panel was cracked during shipping. I will try and get a replacement panel. I will give a better report once I fully use this little guy. September 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First impressions Delivered on time and in good order. After filling with oil (provided) and gas as per instructions, the generator started on second pull and ran smoothly. After a short time I started testing with various lights, tools, etc and all worked. The maximum I have tried so far is a 1500w heater which operated ok, though there was a reasonable increase in noise level due to the motor working harder, as expected. I am on a long camping trip from California to Alaska and back in August, so that will be a true test of how good the generator is, but first impressions are that it is a good product, reasonably light weight and has all the features required.
