This generator was very easy to assemble, couple wheels and handles and it was set to go. I purchased a tri-fuel conversion kit (not at HD) and installed it with some modification to the frame of the generator. Next filled it up with some hi quality synthetic 5w-30 oil designed for small engines and was ready to go. Please note that the generator does come with a quart of 4 stroke oil that also can be used. The generator will be using a 30A L14-30R generator cable from generator to L14-30R outlet on outside of house. This outlet then wires directly to a manual 10 position transfer switch. I have it about 6 ft from the house on a small 3ft x 3ft concrete pad I poured. I then started by firing the generator up using a natural gas connection - started immediately and ran very nicely - unloaded! For a quick check I plugged in a 1000W halogen work light to load the generator. Once plugged in the generator loaded down and again continued to run nicely. The exhaust on this thing is a very nice size allowing it to run at the listed 71dB level - pretty quiet for a 5500W generator! I can barely hear it inside my house, I am very satisfied. I also purchased the cover for it, pretty basic but does the job nicely. Now I actually am looking forward to the first power outage. I may update after that occurs.

Performed admirably during our power outage,,,,this unit was still going 11 hours later and I had to power it down first to add gas,,,,,wish it had an electric start as it did not start on first or even second pull,,,,in fact, we need to get a couple of additional gas cans to store reserves as the tank on this is so big that as soon as u fill it,,,u have to go out and get more gas,,,,but that's worth it if it continues to run forever like it did for us! Buy a battery operated syphon pump though as trying to lift the gas cans to refill the tank can be a tough experience,,,,u can get those syphons for 15 bucks,,,well worth it,,,

I had the generator shipped to the local store and I picked it up from there. Packaged very well with no damage.
But the first thing I noticed is that this generator is NOT made in the U.S., it it designed/engineered in the U.S. but made in China. I would have paid $100+ more to have it totally made in the U.S.
Assembly was easy with good instructions and the generator fired right up after adding oil and gas. With these generators, time usually tells how well built they are so that is why I only gave it 4 stars at this point.
My previous generator was China designed/built which only lasted 1 year and the carb started leaking gas and the carb is no longer made so the generator is useless.

The generator was easy to assemble. I put oil in it, but have not run it yet.
