Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bones768 Backup power when I need it
Instructions easy to understand. Easy to assemble. A one hour test with my remote receptacle for my transfer switch, running 10 circuits including the hot water heater and well system was flawless. It's a gas engine so expect noise, but the noise is outside so it's manageable.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PatZ Nice Generator - Read specs on all generators in this price range... pretty quiet & seems to be well built
Purchased from HomeDepot in March after my old generator quite. This Westinghouse generator seems to be well built and had no problem maintaining a steady 120V will full 6000W load (4 portable electric heaters at 1500 Watts each). My gas gauge was a reading a bit low on a nearly full tank of gas. I contacted Westpro service and received a real response to my email in 15 minutes! Westpro service has US based customer service and was a pleasure to deal with. Even though my gas gauge was only a little off they immediately offered to send me a replacement gauge. I received a replacement gauge in a few days! I am very happy with the quality of this generate and their customer service was the best I have even received by far. A+++++ very happy with this purchase

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Firstimer First-time Generator Purchase - Very Satisfied
This was our first ever purchase of a generator, and we couldn't be happier. Assembly was easy, and it started right up. Although we (thankfully) have not lost power and haven't had to use it, it gives us peace of mind knowing that we have a working generator in the event of a power outage.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by dissapointed Was not reliable
I purchased this online primarily as a backup generator. I got it, set it up and it started and ran fine. A couple weeks later I was going to use it for a project. It would not start at all. After going through all the troubleshooting steps and common sense issues, the best I can tell is that fuel was entering the carborator, but not getting to the cylinder. Other reviews are positive so I guess I just got a lemon, but I don't feel comfortable with this one being reliable enough for a backup generator. There isn't a close service center so I returned it to Home Depot. The staff at my local store was very helpful and understanding.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by dissapproval A FAIR PRICE FOR A WELL REVIEWED GENERATOR
UPON UNPACKING IT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS STORED OUTSIDE AS THERE WERE SOME RUST SPOTS IN THE SMALL POCKETS ON THE TOP AND OTHER AREAS. VERY EASY ASSEMBLY, ALL PARTS WERE PRESENT. FILLED THE CRANKCASE WITH OIL, THE GAS TANK WITH GAS , AND IT STARTED WITH ONE PULL. KINDA NOISY BUT NO MORE THAN MOST OTHERS. THE TWO CIRCUT BREAKERS WERE CORRODED BUT WITH A LITTLE EFFORT I WAS ABLE TO FREE THEM UP. I RAN THE UNIT FOR A WHILE AND IT WORKED AS DESCRIBED. THIS ONE CAME WITH A 25' 3 WAY POWER CORD, KINDA SHORT BUT IT IS BETTER THAN NOTHING. I HAVENT RUN IT ENOUGH TO SEE LONG TERM DURABILITY BUT IT SEEMS JUST FINE SO FAR.

This review is to mainly advise whoever is going to use this generator to back feed into a main panel in your home. I put a junction box outside my house to hook generator into and wired it to a 30 amp breaker in my panel. I also installed an interlock devise for code purposes. The problem with using this gen to backfeed is that you have to basically unground or float the neutral wire on gen. The gen comes with the neutral bonded to ground. To unbond the gen you have to pull the whole front panel off and take box that covers all the wiring off and then figure out what wire to cut or unscrew from ground. This is where I'm at. Trying to figure out what wire to unhook. So do research before going through pain and expense of running wiring to panel.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gaff Great value
With all of the generators out there, it was kind of difficult to decide. I'm sure all in this class would perform fine in an emergency. I am running this with a transfer switch that I installed and am able to run all of the necessities without a problem,(included power cord is a plus though) I decided on this product because the Westinghouse name, the good warranty and most importantly, the customer service. I had made a few calls to Westpro in Wisconsin to do research and they were friendly and willing to help. The only thing I would liked to have seen and It is not a big deal at all, would be a little heavier steel wheel, maybe ball bearing. But again, it's not like one will be putting miles on a generator. Other than that it is a nice unit.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AlexandWhit Good quality American made product, good price
We bought this as a backup generator since there have been power outages in our area over the past two winters. We've done a couple trial runs but haven't had to run it for actual backup power yet. Seemed to run fine the couple trial runs, easy to start and seems pretty simple to use. Comforting to have it there in case we have bad storms this winter.
