Customer Questions & Answers

Will this switch work with a Hunter fan? There is a connector on one of the leads on the end of the Hunter switch

Asked by: BobV
Yes, cut the connector off of the old switch and use a butt splice or wire nut to connect it to the new switch or you can remove the connector completely and use wire nuts to connect the new switch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy - even for a lady I'm a 55-year old female and I've never done anything electrical before. I completed this project without having to consult anyone. It's very straightforward; however, don't forget to unscrew the piece that the pull-chain goes through before installing (like I didn't do). You'll screw it in from the outside at the end instead of trying to force it through the hole from the inside :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WIse purchase option The light switch broke on the fan. Considered buying a new light kit because I didn't know that replacement switches existed until a friend said to check into it. The switch was less than $1.50 and a light kit at least $15.00. So this was a tremendous savings and probably easier to install than an entire light kit.

However, many of the home depot stores said they had this light switch in their inventory but when I arrived at the store, there were none. I was told that people stole them off the shelf which is why there's no inventory for this item. This occurred in at least 3 stores before I decided to order this online.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from sticks I purchased this switch a year ago, don't use the light switch often, but after one year it sticks, causing to pull several times to turn on or off. Will be buying another one today. The cost is such that replacing after one year is no big deal and replacing is so easy. Would be nice if they would make it with better quality so replacement is not needed as often.
