Product Overview

Over time, the light socket on your ceiling fan can become worn and inoperable. If you replace a burned-out bulb and the new bulb blows immediately when turned on, or if the light won't come on at all, the socket might need to be replaced. This UL listed socket installs easily, features a durable porcelain finish, and includes 10 in. leads.

Is this socket suitable for 1970s vintage house with 60 deg. C wiring? Is it suitable for exterior surface mounted fixture?

Asked by: Hank
In general this socket can be used with 60°C wire; however you should consult with a qualified electrician to ensure that you are installing the correctly rated socket and to ensure that the local code allows the use of 60°C wire in this specific application. Also use in an exterior fixture, you should again check with a qualified electrician to ensure the socket and fixture are correctly installed per local codes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I brought this product to replace my ceiling fan light bulb sockets. The sockets that came with the ceiling fan were A15 sockets. I needed it to be the standard size socket. The price was great. I was able replace all of the sockets for my ceiling fans in my house without hurting my pockets. The only issue I had when replacing the sockets was that I had to take off the metal part where the wires are on the socket to make it fit in the ceiling fan. All and all it was an easy install and a great buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Fit Purchased this after searching many sites and it fit my hanging porch light. I gave it a perfect score even though it came with a 1/2" metal extension. The original had a 2-1/2" metal extension but luckily I had not discarded the old one and though it was rusty I was able to use it and it works well. Would have preferred that it was made in the USA but seems to be of high quality. Happy that I could repair my beautiful wrought iron hanging porch light from our first house built in 1970. And it cost less than $3.00. Should be good for another 35 years.
