Answer:
Yes, you can cut the wires to shorten them. Please allow 6-9 inches of wiring above the down rod and you will need to strip the wires after cutting them.

Answer:
Yes, you certainly can cut them. I tent to leave them at full length, just in case I want to relocate the fan in the future

Answer:
This, as with any ceiling fan, should have the edge of the blade get no closer than 12" from the wall.
Not just for safety, but also for adequate air flow for your ceiling fan.

This ceiling fan is not rated for outside use (not rated for wet or damp locations) on a covered patio. We do not carry any 30" ceiling fans rated for outside use.

No, you cannot shorten the down rod on this ceiling fan. You need to use the 4" down rod that comes with it.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 90 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by awesome little fan :-) Took my girlfriend and i about an hour to instal this. The instructions are'nt very detailed though. Before you place the fan on the base, would recommend you put the blades on first. It didnt specify that :-/ When unscrewing the screws, be careful not to drop the little washer that it has on it. We did, and it took us a few mins to get it out of the actual fan. Other than that, it was a breeze :-). Looks great too in our breakfast nook July 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by In the kitchen This little fan is a perfect fit for my kitchen. There was a larger fan in the spot before but it kept interfering with the flame on my gas stove. I also needed it to act independently of the light switch since it is not connected to one. (Do not ask) My son came & installed it without a problem. Except for the fact he was shocked because the electrical panel did not have a label for that random circuit! Lame person who installed the fan box. The only negative features; the 3 speeds are not much different from each other. Balancing it has been a challenge. Other than that we love it & glad we have it in this heat wave we are going through. It really works to keep the heat at bay. And it's really cute! July 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very little air movement Even for the relative size, this fan does not circulate any air. July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great little fan perfect for a small room. Looks very good in my small kitchen May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gorgeous and Powerful We only had room for a 24" fan in our kitchen so we wanted one that moved a lot of air. This one had the highest cfm rating and works great! Great quality, absolutely love that the pull chains have an engraving of a fan or a light so you know which is which. Great design feature indictive of the quality and design of this product April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product ALL THE WAY!! I already had 2 of these and had been meaning to order more! I have 2 in my galley kitchen and am adding a third over by the pantry. I also plan on buying one for each of our bedrooms as well. Nice and quiet, also easy to clean!! I love the design and color of the gunmetal black. Not sure which color I will order for the bedrooms yet, but will make a decision soon!! The brightness of the lights are ok but not exceptionally bright for task lighting but I don't like bright direct light anyhow. Other products for that job! February 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by QUINCE 24 GUN METAL I just finished installing and testing this little gem of a ceiling fan. We do a very small kitchen and this product is just perfect. Notwithstanding the battle I fought to properly secure the outlet box in the ceiling, the fan assembly and installation was a snap. It looks really cool and according to my 9-year old daughter, it is "so cute!" on account of its small size. And speaking of such, do not let it size fool, this fan puts out a very good breeze--and the lights are bright, too. Remember, it is for a small place; so, do not go hanging it in a big room because you will be disappointed. All in all, very please with it appearance, quality, value and ease of installation. Get yourself one! January 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Home Depot is the only store to shop Constructed built in bunk beds for my three sons. After the construction it was evident we had to install a much smaller fan and light combination. The only problem was the space was now limited to the now 7' foot of ceiling available. One of the concerns was the persons in the top bunk could not have a large fan turning when exiting the bunk. Went on line with Home Depot and there were a couple of choices. Selected this fan and I could not be happier with the product selected. Thank you Home Depot for the amazing wide selection you provide to your customers. September 3, 2014
